Racquetball is just about the funniest sport I have ever played. The baby bassets and I decided to try it out last night at the community center gym, and what a hoot. Yes… I said hoot. I haven’t played racquetball in decades and this was the first time the baby bassets had ever set foot in a racquetball court. I had no clue what the rules were, so we just went with assumption that the ball needs to hit the wall and bounce on the ground only once, and then it was time to hit it. We also went with the rule that the ball needs to go over the line on the floor when you serve, since there was a line on the floor and it seemed to make sense. After a few hits that rule went out the window. Right from the get go I was pretty impressed with myself. On quite a few occasions I managed to hit the ball with the racquet once but have the ball return and hit me back multiple times. Yes, that ball really seemed to like me…. and my head. NEAT!! The baby bassets mastered the art of hitting the ball and having it come back and tag them in the back. HAHAHA!!! I shouldn’t laugh at my sweet babies. haha. This will definitely be a regular activity for us.
