Looks like a few of my pumpkins became a tasty little meal for a few snails. I am a bit pissy about it, but not entirely surprised. I don’t like to put our slug bait because of the pup and chickens, but I will have to figure something out if I want anything for Halloween. I have heard eggs shells work, so I am taking the shells from breakfast and circling the chomped on sprouts to see if they will come back. Next I try dynamite.

Kay is entranced with the possibilities which lie before her. Five handsome, willing men are vying for her hand in marriage. The stakes are ownership of a medieval keep perched on the rocky edge of a stormy ocean. Each man seems more stunning than the last, and it is her choice which will reward the prize.

To make the game even more interesting, Kay is disguised as a handmaiden to her sister, Em, so that she might more freely mingle with the suitors. In this way she can learn their strengths and catch them unaware in their most intimate moments.

As the threat of border reivers approaches the keep, Kay finds that her pleasurable playtime takes on a far more serious overtone. Knowing who to trust and who to depend on becomes a matter of life and death!

Six teens are devoted to a game with one rule: If a player gets tagged, they must change their life within the next fifteen minutes. The better the player, the bigger the change. One might give their car away, or punch the school bully. Another might change identities or sacrifice their virginity. Anything to keep evolving, to avoid fitting into a label or caring about the junk they own. But their quest for enlightenment has taken a rotten final turn – one of the players has murdered the game’s creator, the teen prophet (cult leader?) David Bloom.

Our narrator is being framed for the crime; can he clear his name and discover which of his lifelong friends is the murderer before he takes the fall?

[sic] is a gritty teen murder mystery that delves into the psychology of enlightenment among the criminally dysfunctional. The “Eureka Edition” is an entirely rewritten version of the book exclusive to Amazon, featuring re-imagined scenes and fresh dialog.

Genre: Literary Fiction

After suffering a brutal heartbreak in far-off Oslo, Norway, despondent malcontent Loren Niva returns to his hometown – the seemingly idyllic, sun-soaked beachside resort town of Pearl Strand, Florida. Morbidly determined to end his pointless existence on the night of his thirtieth birthday, Loren whittles down the days in a drunken, drug-fueled miasma of casual violence and self-pity.

Along for this hell ride are several members of Loren’s colorful social circle, including Ziggy, a hard-partying, easygoing drug dealer of some local standing, Justin, a recently engaged school teacher with a debilitating love of vodka and loose women, and Stephen, the boastful, womanizing self-styled scion of his powerful family – and perhaps the most ineffectual and irresponsible criminal defense attorney the state of Florida has ever seen.

As events compound and careen towards the inevitable, these four ‘Stranded’ – tenuously linked by schoolyard memories and teenage drug habits – find themselves floundering in their various attempts to recapture their vainglorious youth. Their thirties looming menacingly ahead of them, each of these unabashed man-children will be thoroughly tried and tested, victims of their own fears, addictions and objectively terrible decisions.

Loren, Stephen, Ziggy and Justin are about to discover just how far down the spiral goes, when the stars malign…
