My mother in law needed a few items at Target yesterday and I jumped at the chance to go. The new Lego Minifigure series is out and I needed to grab a few mystery packs. I only have 3 out of the 16 in the series and not having a complete series is just about driving me to the brink. Now give me a bit of credit, I didn’t run right away to the toy section, I patiently walked and grabbed a few necessary groceries on the way over. After the longest 5 minutes of my life, I finally arrived in front of the minifigure display…empty…picked clean…NOTHING!! Not even the corner of a little wrapper. As the disappointment began to sink in, my phone pinged. I was getting a text message from my friend. She sent me a picture of a full minifigure display at the Target Store in the next town over. At that very moment she was picking her way through the Legos. Jealousy sunk in, but so did the happiness that my friends were just as crazy as I was.

4.3 Stars (78 Reviews)
Genre: Romance

The impecunious Lady Fortescue, widowed and alone save for two loyal, unpaid servants, has sold off almost all of the furnishings in her large Bond Street home and faces a grim future as a member of the aristocracy too proud to seek employment or charity, yet too poor to survive on the infrequent largess of wealthy relatives oblivious to her plight. Salvation arrives in the unlikely form of old Colonel Sandhurst, an equally impoverished retired military man who falls at her feet in a hunger-induced faint one afternoon in Hyde Park. The two decide to join forces: the Colonel will share Lady Fortescue’s home, and they will invite others of their station and situation to live with them and pool their resources. Thus is born what eventually becomes one of London’s most popular hotels, The Poor Relation, to which the nobility flocks to enjoy the novelty of being waited upon by members of their own class.

On April 4th, 2014, 6 billion and 783 million people died in the blinding white fireballs of the Pan-Global Nuclear Holocaust. Sophie Saint-Germain, wife and scientist and mother of one, was not among them.

She lived for a time, and so her words endure.

The reclamation of her terrifying story is a miracle in itself. Uncovered during the Shoshone Geyser Basin archaeological excavations of 2316, Sophie’s unearthed diary reveals the most secret confessions of the only known female survivor of the Holocaust in central Colorado. Her diary reveals the truths behind our legends of the High Shelter, the White Fire, the Great Dying, the Coming of the One, and the Gray Rain Exodus, her horrifying journey into the wasteland made with the sole conviction that her daughter, Lacie, was still alive.

For these are the first of words, chosen by the Woman of the Black Hawk: FROM THE FIRE / GIVE ME SHELTER / THAT I MIGHT ENDURE THE STORM, / GIVE ME THE STRENGTH / TO PRAY MY DAUGHTER WILL PREVAIL.

From the Plague Land, from the Fire. This is the book of the woman who was, this is the codex of our ancestors’ revelation.

The Boogie Man Is My Friend
Kathryn Loving
4.8 Stars (18 Reviews)
Genre: Biographies & Memoirs | Parenting & Relationships

FREE for a limited time

It’s hard to imagine the unthinkable. Most of the time we are all in denial. How do we prepare for it? Do we know how to protect our children from it?

Most parents or guardians will never know…until it’s too late. And by then, the Boogie Man is their friend.

Kathryn Loving takes you along her journey from being raised in a middle class family with good values to her adventures as a police officer. She shares the insides of her life in the policehood, battling child molesters and evil doers. It’s nothing like a super hero story.

When all was lost in the sorrow from the countless victim children, God kept her soul. She and her village battled to bring those that preyed on our children to justice. And justice they received.

The book is filled with the unexpected. It will wake anyone up to what lurks out there…waiting to pounce…on anyone’s children. There is no class or economics when it comes to child predators.

The Boogie Man Is My Friend is a book about a heavy subject that most people don’t want to explore or even fathom. Loving takes you there…to that dark place… but not without success, solutions, and believe it or not…humor…lots of it. Her cop stories are throughout to make you laugh after you cry. You might be shocked. You might laugh. You might cry. But one thing is for certain, you will be awake.

It’s real. It’s genuine. It’s life. It needs to be told.

“To be a great lover, you have to shed your armor. To be a great writer, you have to shed your skin.” Frank can’t get past his writing instructor’s words. He’d like to be both, but his autistic childhood, visual impairment, dismissive parents, and narcissistic brother prevent him from being either.

Then on vacation in Hawaii, Frank has what feels like a paranormal experience on the Arizona Memorial that starts him down a path of psychological and spiritual self-discovery. In making the transitions from weird to respected, awkward to insightful, brainy to wise, his relationships with women shift from fearful to erotic, and through them doors open to unexpected opportunities with his writing. Lifting himself from the purgatory to which his past had banished him, he inadvertently helps free those he connects with from their own shadowed depths, making his story the Memoir of an Unlikely Savior.
