Today is technically the first day of the New Year. Any resolutions you may have made actually begin now. If you started last Saturday, you just got a jump start on the game. The rest of us can begin now and not incur any penalties for failing over the weekend. I am going to give myself a time limit on the resolution though. I will say it ends February first. I think that is a much more doable goal. I of course am going with the classic eat better and exercise more, because I lack any imagination, and I feel like poop after all the wonderfully delicious and sinful foods I have eaten over the last three months. I have even been craving salads and water, so you know I was pretty bad. Happy New Year Everyone!

The one person I can’t stand wants me to be her bridesmaid.
My sister. Not that I have time for her crap.
I’m a stockbroker in training and the last thing I need is to cater to my high-maintenance sibling’s every desire.
And her first request? To learn to ride horses. So she can enter the wedding on one.
You’ve got to be kidding me. We’ve never even touched a horse before.
With lots of peer pressure and guilt tripping, we head to a breathtaking ranch, and lucky for me, the horses aren’t the only beautiful things to look at.
The riding instructor is honestly the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. Everything about him sends me in a tizzy.
Best of all, he’s nothing like my sister’s rich jerk of a fiancé.
Wealthy guys are the worst. I work for them, with them, and avoid them at all cost.
This hottie and I hit it off, and he offers to be my plus-one to the wedding, with a fake romance attached to it.
I couldn’t be more thrilled until things start to not feel so fake anymore.
I’m falling for his charm, his way with words, his scorching body.
He’s perfect, until he’s not.
Turns out, he’s a billionaire in disguise. And here I thought things wouldn’t be fake for long.
Guess I was wrong.

Searching for The Eminent: March of the Meek
by Marvin North

Genre: Horror | Coming of Age | Fantasy | Teen & Young Adult
FREE for a limited time
SEARCHING FOR THE EMINENT: MARCH OF THE MEEK tells the story of Rekco Curse, a thirteen-year-old boy living a sheltered life in the rural plains just outside of the last inhabited city on the planet — Last Thesi. Far removed is he from the fears of the people who live inside, a fear that the apocalypse looms near and that all life will be washed away in its wake. After the passing of his mother and the mysterious disappearance of his father, Rekco was left in the care of a mercenary named Maven. Could the disappearance of Rekston Curse have some correlation with the decline of civilization? All Rekco knows about his father is that he was a hero who helped secure victory in the greatest battle Last Thesi had ever seen. For that, Rekco has dedicated himself to becoming a hero like his father, in hopes that he will find out what happened to him. His anxiety may often get the best of him, but Rekco still approaches any task with optimism, a kind heart, and relentless determination.
When a strange cabin suddenly appears next door to Rekco’s home amidst a nefarious magical storm, everything for him will change. A twelve-year-old wizard, Kyoku, and his magical mentor, Gofun arrive at their doorstep. Are they friend or foe, and what does their coming have to do with the strange visions that have plagued Rekco’s mind since he encountered the magical storm on the fateful night they appeared?
This coming of age tale not only follows the story of Rekco but also the perspective of various characters; from the unusual student-teacher dynamic between the snide wizard prodigy, Kyoku and the eerily kind-hearted, Gofun; to Cathy Wyman, a traumatized orphan living in the rancid slums of Last Thesi, constantly harassed and bullied by the cruel and jealous head matron of the orphanage, Glenda Gace. The way their stories intertwine could determine the fate of the world itself — or simply push them all closer to the coming apocalypse.

Nimona Weston has a debt to pay. Her father’s dealings with the dark society known as the Trust cost Nim her freedom. There’s one way out of the contract on her life and that’s to bide her time and pay the tithes. Warrick Spenser has a secret. As king’s seneschal, he should be the last soul in Inara to risk association with dark magic, but long-hidden ties to the Trust are harder to shed than simply cutting the threads. Magical contracts, blood-debt accountants, and a deadly game. An epic fantasy with regency flair, an improper and slightly stabby heroine with a penchant for trouble, clean slow burn romance, and a dark and twisty plot that pits magic against kings, love against power, and a gothic underworld against a kingdom desperate to survive. Genre: Religion & Spirituality
FREE for a limited time
What happens when life shakes your foundation? What if your foundation isn’t the foundation that God really wants you to have? Beside Still Waters is an Amish fiction novel by bestselling author Tricia Goyer that captures the struggle between dreams and the reality of life.
Beside Still Waters takes you on the journey of:
• understanding your purpose
• appreciating God’s grace
Raised among the Amish of Indiana, 18-year-old Marianna Sommer plans to get baptized into the church, marry Aaron Zook, and set up life in the only community she has ever known. But when her older brother chooses the world’s path following his rumschpringe, and a younger sibling begins showing interest in Englisch ways, Marianna’s parents move the family to Montana.
Although she is also in her rumschpringe years and not obligated to move, Marianna makes the journey to dutifully help her mother who is expecting another child. Surprisingly, from strangers on the cross-country train ride to the less rigid stance of the new Montana community, many Englisch influences awaken within Marianna — and even her father — the desire to pursue a deeper kind of joy and love for God.
After an accidental death, Marianna tells her friend Ben a defining story about the Sommer family, and his response further illumines the active relationship God seeks with His followers.
In due time, she learns the move from Indiana was not about losing anything, but finding out who God really is. Despite all the shake-ups, Marianna feels a sweet peace, like still waters, in her soul.
