As I was clearing out the attic, I created two piles. One for the items I was keeping and the other for items I was getting rid of. Both are two very large piles that take up the entire garage. My little pups barely have any room to get through to the front of the garage to bark at the neighbors. It is still a very daunting job, but I was able to get sort through everything and was feeling a bit less overwhelmed. That is until my oldest decided he wanted to purge his room as well. The kid got rid of almost everything in his room, and added it to my stacks in the garage. Toys, knick knacks, furniture. He was brutal! I was worried enough to ask him if he was moving out. Nope, turns out he is ready to become a teenager. Okay. I thought that process would be a little more gradual, but fine. So while all of this is happening, my youngest is getting more and more nervous and clinging to his toys for dear life.. or youth. Not sure which. Is this my midlife crisis??? I was picturing it more of a fast red car kinda thing, not junk piled high.
