My partner in crime sent me a link for a nice little 10 minute workout that you can do in your home, no equipment, and it’s short. Super short. So short you will barely notice you even did the workout. So I put on my sneakers, downloaded the video, and took my first step into H. E. Double hockey sticks. HOLY MOLY. That was ROUGH!!! I was panting and sweating buckets by the end of the ten minutes. I am pretty sure I died… a few times. My partner in crime said she has been doing it for three days. My very competitive nature has me trying to figure out how to surpass her in the number. I will work on that later. For now I am going to make it my goal to do the 10 minute metabolism boosting workout every day for a month. Today is day two. I am a bit sore from yesterday, but it really does seem doable, and I would much rather start my New Years Resolution now to combat the effects of the holidays to come.

Forensic geologists Cassie Oldfield and Walter Shaws investigate one way: trouble on the canyon’s Colorado River. Stranded raft. Life vests unused. Rafters missing.
The only clue to the fate of the rafters is a bag of pebbles caught in the bowline. Following that clue, the geologists uncover a hellish scheme. Not only are the rafters in peril, but the river itself is under attack.
The race to stop it takes Cassie and Walter deep into the canyon, and onto the mighty river, putting their own survival at stake.

Deadbreak: A Zombie Apocalypse Thriller
by Jorge Sanchez
(369 Reviews)
Genre: Science Fiction | Science Fiction & Fantasy | Action & Adventure
FREE for a limited time
Cities are in ruins, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu. To survive, Jeremiah will need his wits, a little bit of luck, and lots of ammo.
Before Deadbreak — the day three years ago when the dead rose from their graves — the idea of spending my days outrunning animated corpses and contemplating how to properly season rodents wasn’t exactly on my radar.
But here we are. The world has turned upside down, and I’ve had to learn new skills. Archery. Looting. Melee combat against bandits and the occasional cannibal. Most of the meaningful conversations I have are with my dog.
Don’t judge. It sure beats chatting up your neighbor when he’s missing his tongue and cerebellum is his staple food.
Somehow, through a combination of blind luck and a strong desire to give the zombie apocalypse the finger, I’ve survived this long. My goal is to make it to the Pacific coast, find my daughter, and create some semblance of a new life.
Minus that middle finger. Pretty sure someone’s eaten it by now.

by Katana Collins
(28 Reviews)
Genre: Romance
FREE for a limited time
When you have a name like Kandi Cornne, you’re destined to either become a stripper… or own a candy store.
For me? It’s the latter. That’s right, my name is Kandi and I own a candy store in the quaint New England town of Maple Grove. Which in October? It means three things:
1) Tourists are coming in droves for “leaf-peeping” season
2) My candy store business is booming
3) The sexy pumpkin farmer, Ford Kane is everywhere
Since he harvests pumpkins and I sell candy, Halloween is both of our prime seasons and our businesses often cross. Even though he’s hated me for years, ever since his best friend and I broke up, we need to find a way to work together in a civil manner.
While I may not be able to soften that grim demeanor of his… the five black kittens we find might. If only he knew how much he had me purring as well…

Manhunter: Frank Hamer, Texas Ranger
by Gene Shelton
(68 Reviews)
Genre: Literature & Fiction | Historical Fiction | Westerns
FREE for a limited time
Best known as the Texas lawman who played the major role in bringing down Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow on May 23, 1934, Frank Hamer was already a legend before that bloody shootout in Bienville Parish, Louisiana – the final act of a long and courageous career.
There is more to Hamer’s story than the ambush of the two outlaws. His career spanned the times of western law enforcement from horseback and Winchester days to the invention of the telephone and automobile. During that time, he built a reputation as an incorruptible lawman, fearless, a good man with a gun whether on horseback or behind the wheel of a Ford V8, or facing a violent mob. He survived 52 gunfights and 23 bullet wounds.
