Oh dear. My youngest baby basset told my hubby, who always cooks dinner, that we always eat the same thing every week. YIKES!!! My hubby could make me hotdogs every night, and I would thank him and eat it all up like it was a steak dinner. I mean, he makes pretty good dinners every night. I can’t remember the last time we had hotdogs, but you know what I mean. Anywho, the young one is stirring the pot and I am getting worried. I already made the three meals I know how to cook last week, eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti with a vegetarian pasta sauce, and acorn squash with Italian sausage and apples. I’m tapped out! Yes, I know the internet is filled with wonderful easy recipes, but I lose interest pretty quickly and find myself watching hedgehog videos after two minutes. You might be thinking that we should tell my youngest to find a recipe himself and help cook it. That would make a lot of sense. Except for one problem. I would have to help him search the internet and then we would both be watching hedgehog video after two minutes. This is just too much before my second cup of coffee. I need a pre- breakfast treat.

Kellynch: Dragon Persuasion (Jane Austen’s Dragons Book 6)
by Maria Grace
(1,121 Reviews)

Keeping a hibernating dragon should have been a simple thing. But it wasn’t. Apparently, nothing involving dragons was ever simple, at least not for Kellynch’s woefully underprepared Keeper, Anne Elliot.
With the estate in debt, Anne’s father in denial, and the dragon’s treasure missing, Kellynch’s awakening was shaping up to be nothing short of catastrophe. Not to mention the pesky matter of Anne’s broken heart and resentment against the meddling old friend who had engineered it.
Captain Frederick Wentworth had spent his life making something of himself in the Navy. With the war that kept him employed at an end and a small fortune in prize money rendering him eminently marriageable, common sense and Laconia, his dragon Friend, demanded he take a wife.
But working as an agent of the Blue Order, managing dragon matters across England, seemed a much better alternative. At least until investigating one such matter sent him directly in the path of Anne Elliot, the woman who had ruined him for all others.
Now a royal dragon rages, a sleeping dragon lurks, and too many treasures have gone missing. Can Anne and Wentworth lay aside resentment, pride, and heartbreak to prevent Kellynch’s awakening from ending in bloodshed — or worse?

Dark Sky (The Misadventures of Max Bowman Book 1)
by Joel Canfield, Lisa Canfield, AJ Canfield
(2,022 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
Max Bowman is a hero for today’s America — mostly because he has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. Years after being tossed on the trash heap by the CIA, Max is just getting by — and fine with it. Who cares if his future is in the rearview mirror? As long as he’s got a Jack Daniels in his hand and his creatively-foul-mouthed singer girlfriend on his arm, why shake things up? Then his old Agency boss shows up with a job that’s way above his paygrade — tracking down the truth about a war hero who was killed in Afghanistan. Because some people think this dead man isn’t so dead. Max treats it as a paycheck and a big fat waste of time. Until that house explodes. And a guy who looks a lot like the hero of a popular ’60s TV Western puts a target on his forehead. Oh, and then there’s that secret para-military outfit in Montana, which wants to end his assignment in the most unpleasant way possible. It all happens in DARK SKY, a sardonic spin on the traditional thriller and the beginning of Max Bowman’s hilarious and harrowing misadventures.

This is not the full-time professional Legion of Imperial Rome. This is the levied Legion of the mid-Republic and it is messy.
If you like readable Roman adventure and 3rd Century military historical fiction, you will love the Clay Warrior Stories series.
Going further than historical fiction, the Clay Warrior Stories are adventure books designed to make you want to strap on a shield, draw a gladius, and join a Legion battle line.
Set in the years before and during the 1st Punic War, the series follows the exploits of a young, hot-headed swordsman. From a lad on his father’s farm, to a Legion training camp, to the Capital of the Republic, Alerio Sisera learns that sharp steel and quick reflexes are not always a Legionary’s best assets.
