This morning I am looking at all the Christmas decorations like a bartender looks at the customers at closing time. You all gotta leave now. The ball dropped, times up, get to getting out. I am ready for a fresh new year. I’m not saying I have any New Years Resolutions just yet. I kinda need to gather myself a bit first. Clean up my messes and unfinished business from 2025. January is the worst time to start anything new for me. Mostly it’s a month to finally exhale. It’s pretty boring and I like that. Happy New year everyone! Now breath.

Horrible Women, Wonderful Girls (The Jaycee Grayson Series Book 1)
by Julie Ann Sipos
4.4 Stars (143 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

On the run from scandal and fighting some fierce inner demons, Jaycee Grayson didn’t come to play. A disgraced Hollywood executive with no filter and nothing to lose, she’s followed the hollow promise of sisterhood to Littleburgh’s world-famous doll empire. Nothing is as it seems — not the town, not the empress behind the lucrative legend, and definitely not the two-faced Prairie Karens harboring a billion-dollar web of secrets and lies.

Jaycee rallies a band of fellow misfits, each uniquely desperate for a life win, only to learn that truth bombs carry a premium price tag. Exposing a twisted workplace plot might cost her everything: the big career comeback, the small-town cop romance — and a home and family just weird enough to call her own.

With stiletto-sharp sarcasm, emotional grit, and the satirical sting of a slap in Spanx, this resilient new heroine is hitting hard with cult fans who like to get in early and skip the line. If you crave unexpected adventure, corporate takedowns, and brilliant little reads that start as a cool booknerd tip and end in nightly obsession — buckle up, buttercup. You’re home. Grab it before the price goes up!

Romeo and Juliet meets Gladiator in this “spellbinding” (Kirkus) epic fantasy trilogy set in ancient Persia!
They are the light against the darkness.
The steel against the necromancy of the Druj.
And they use demons to hunt demons.

Nazafareen lives for revenge. A girl of the isolated Four-Legs Clan, all she knows about the King’s elite Water Dogs is that they bind wicked creatures called daevas to protect the empire from the Undead. But when scouts arrive to recruit young people with the gift, she leaps at the chance to join their ranks. To hunt the monsters that killed her sister.

Scarred by grief, she’s willing to pay any price, even if it requires linking with a daeva named Darius. Human in body, he’s possessed of a terrifying power, one that Nazafareen controls. But the golden cuffs that join them have an unwanted side effect. Each experiences the other’s emotions, and human and daeva start to grow dangerously close.

As they pursue a deadly foe across the arid waste of the Great Salt Plain to the glittering capital of Persepolae, unearthing the secrets of Darius’s past along the way, Nazafareen is forced to question his slavery — and her own loyalty to the empire. But with an ancient evil stirring in the north, and a young conqueror sweeping in from the west, the fate of an entire civilization may be at stake.

The First Day of the Rest of My Life
by Cathy Lamb
4.4 Stars (392 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

A beautiful story that will have you laughing one moment and crying the next, so grab wine, chocolate, and a tissue and settle in.

Madeline O’Shea is a nationally known life coach and columnist. She confidently tells women exactly how to improve their lives and create change. Her advice is often unconventional, hilarious, and outrageous – and it works.

In terms of her own life? She’s a total mess.

“I am two people. The public Madeline O’Shea, flamboyant and confident, who inspires people, mostly those with vaginas, to grab life, shake it around, and sling it in a new direction, and the other me who cowers, likes to be alone with my seriously unbalanced mind, doesn’t trust, and battles near-crippling fear and sadness…

I am a lie. I have no more business advising people what to do with their lives, or their relationships, than I have advising NASA how to build a spaceship to Alien Monster Land.”

As she counsels quirky clients, the long-held secrets in Madeline’s life are about to be exposed, which she had always dreaded, as her past catches up with her.

Yet she is not the only one with secrets. Madeline is stunned to find out that her beloved grandparents have their own, all centered around an old, battered violin. Madeline will soon discover the mind-numbing truth about her entire family, and herself, a story that stretches from France to Cape Cod to a pink beauty parlor to a lavender farm in Oregon.

Within that truth she’ll finally find out who Madeline O’Shea really is.
