It’s that time of year! I was at a friend’s house on Sunday for the game and I noticed she had a stack of London travel books. She was planning her trip for next year and I got a little jealous. Then it occurred to me. I’m an adult. There are a lot of down sides to being an adult, but one perk is your ability to go on adventures. We have a motorhome, so let’s go somewhere. I asked the hubby and the baby bassets if they would like to do a Utah National Parks trip or drive up the coast to British Columbia to see Killer Whales. The whales won. It’s pretty hard to beat whales. It’s been about 25 years since I have been to the Buchart Gardens. 55 acres of pure inspiration. The winter blues is starting to fade. A trip to BC in the summer is just the pick me up I needed.

Who are you, really?
A beautiful tale of extraordinary people in an extraordinary land.
In 1726, a Polish-Virginian in trouble with the law took to the sea and was stranded on an uninhabited Caribbean island. His only desire was to survive and find a way back to his civilization. But fate had other plans: he would meet a tribe of Native Americans and they would adopt him. The Polish Virginian would become someone new and different, someone he had no idea he could be: John Bober would become… The White Jaguar.
Arkady Fielder (1894-1985) was a Polish writer, journalist, and adventurer. He wrote 32 books translated into 23 languages. He traveled broadly but had a special attachment to the region of the Orinoco where he returned repeatedly, and where, for some time, he lived among the Arawak Indians of the Orinoco Delta. And from them he first heard the tale of the mysterious White Jaguar.

by Laura Langa
(126 Reviews)

Seizing the day is great — but snagging a dating coach is better.
All I wanted was to finally say hi to my longtime crush. Instead, I slipped on a puddle of coffee and landed in the arms of Finn Reynolds — the infuriatingly charming newcomer in town. When I tried again, I got utterly tongue-tied. Now I’m blushing, flustered, and somehow caught in Finn’s ridiculous proposition.
With plans to become our library’s next director, Finn has one major hurdle: winning over the standoffish locals. If I agree to shift popular opinion in his favor, he’ll become my personal dating coach. I’m more fluent in fictional dukes than real-life flirting, but I’m also ready to step out of my shell.
As we navigate trial dates along the seaside and late-night pep talks, I start to feel more confident — more myself. And the way Finn looks at me? It’s impossible to ignore the sparks between us — or how sizzling those practice kisses are.
But Finn’s hiding a big secret — one that doesn’t stay buried for long. And the truth turns out to be a plot twist I definitely didn’t see coming.

(2,358 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
For the Shwartz family, survival was the only option. Their will to live, and a bit of luck, kept the family safe during the Holocaust, bringing them across Eastern Europe all the way to Israel.
In 1937, the Shwartz family lived a calm life in their small village in Poland. Fifteen-year-old Rachel liked to sing and go out dancing at a local night club, while her older brother David was busy running a farm and raising a family with his wife Hinda. But all that changed when the war reached Butla.
First, the Russians came and kicked them out of their house. Then, the Nazis came to cart them off. But the Shwartz family resisted. David decided that no matter what, his family would not be taken captive. Instead, he snuck his family out of their village, through a large forest, and into Hungary, a place that was supposed to be safe. But that didn’t last long. Again the Shwartz family found themselves on the run, escaping prison, Nazis, and bombings.
My Family’s Survival is the incredible true story of how the Shwartz family survived the Holocaust. It is a powerful tale of one family’s triumph during history’s darkest moments.
