It is time. That magazine I have been holding onto for the last 25 years just in case I want to use a recipe of something I can’t remember of what. Oh my gosh. I have a stack of about 15 or so holiday magazines that I have stored in a cabinet since 1999 years. THEY ARE VINTAGE!! I couldn’t even tell you the last time I looked at them. I think by now I can determine that I will never make whatever recipes or crafts are in them. Today is the day to say goodbye. Why is it so hard to do? Sure it’s fun and relaxing to sit on the couch and thumb through a spiffy magazine, but there are new ideas out there. Let it go!

THE AMBASSADOR’S WIFE (THE INSPECTOR SAMUEL TAY NOVELS Book 1)
by Jake Needham
4.2 Stars (3,291 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

Inspector Samuel Tay is the best homicide detective Singapore CID ever had, but Tay’s bosses don’t like him and he doesn’t like them. The maverick streak he inherited from his American father makes people uneasy in well-ordered little Singapore where go-along-to-get-along is practically the national religion.

The wife of the American ambassador has been murdered and her body posed in a hotel room in a grotesque sexual display.

The FBI says terrorists are responsible, but the whispers on the street tell a different story. The whispers say that a serial killer is stalking prominent American women in Asia, and that the ambassador’s wife won’t be the only victim.

Tay’s bosses don’t like the idea of putting such a high-profile case in his hands, but botching the investigation would mean an international black eye for Singapore and Tay is the best they’ve got.

The Americans don’t want Tay involved either. They want him to leave the case to them, but he’s not going to do that. It’s a Singapore murder, and finding killers in Singapore is what he does. Besides, the Americans don’t appear to him to be all that interested in solving anything.

Don’t they want me to find the woman’s killer? Tay wonders.

Or am I the only one here who doesn’t already know who it is?

From the NY Times Bestselling duo that wrote Agnes and the Hitman, a new series.

Liz Danger is a ghostwriter, trapped in her old hometown for the summer. Vince Cooper is a cop in a town with a shady new housing development that’s bringing a lot of armed strangers, a corrupt mayor, a police chief boss under fire, and an idiot blogger stirring up trouble. Good thing his recurring one-night stand is sticking around for the summer. The only drawback? He’s not looking forward to the empty space Liz Danger will leave behind her when she goes in September.

Treacherous small-town politics, a rust belt biker gang, a widowed ex who doesn’t understand the word “no,” a seven-year-old in need of a temporary mom, a flamboyant blonde boss who needs watched at all times, exploding family secrets, arson, murder, and three hundred and ninety-two soaking wet teddy bears later, Liz and Vince will come face to face with the madman burning down their town, and even worse, with their imploding relationship.
