Hubby said that we should be past any threats of frost. Now… since I like that answer I am going to hit the ground running and plant a bunch of seeds. Am I going to research if he is right or not? NO! Why on earth would I do that? I am really excited to plant out a few new seeds I found this year and watch them do what all seeds of mine do. Grow an little then unalive from neglect. I have about a 90% failure rate with seeds. The ones who do make it are pretty darn strong, never leave, become invasive, and I have to use fire to get rid of them. So yaaa… I love planting seeds.

When Olivia takes her son Henry for a routine checkup, the last thing she expects is a blood test result that doesn’t make sense. She and her husband, Noah, conceived Henry through IVF — but the numbers don’t add up. With a nagging suspicion that won’t let her go, Olivia digs deeper, uncovering a series of unsettling coincidences.

Then she meets Margo, another mother at Henry’s preschool, whose daughter looks eerily like him. The two women bond over their shared experience with the same fertility doctor — Dr. Cathy Dahl, a woman who seems to be appearing in Olivia’s life more than she should.

Coincidence? Or something far more sinister?

As Olivia spirals into an obsession to uncover the truth, she must confront a terrifying possibility: What if Henry isn’t who she thought he was? And what if the woman who helped her become a mother has been hiding something all along?

Code Name Delilah: Allied Military Forces and Intelligence Services Gather in London 1939-1942 (The Delilah Series Book 1)
by Donald de Brier
4.4 Stars (25 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

London at the Crossroads of WWII, aptly called the “Wizard War”
Set in London during the early years of World War II, Code Name Delilah weaves a cast of fictional characters with very noteworthy historic figures to capture the events of 1939 through 1942, when an international coalition of nations supporting Great Britain began to pull together to defeat the Axis Powers.

Carefully researched and historically grounded, Code Name Delilah relates some new insights and perspectives regarding that unprecedented rapid gathering of extraordinary people, massive industrial production facilities, widely diverse military forces, breathtaking scientific and technological advancements, critical military intelligence capabilities and Ultra Secret cyber security achievements, all of which coalesced in London.

The novel elevates and honors contributions from well-known and lesser-known men and women who were tasked collectively with defeating the Axis Powers. This was a seemingly insurmountable assignment, but the escalating brutality, inhumanity and perfidy of the Axis Powers gave the Allies no other choice.

Their ultimate total Victory was nonnegotiable.

The Other Ones opens with physicist Damon Devereaux beginning a new life in Greenough Park. In the middle of a contentious divorce from his abusive wife, he relocates to be near his sister, Nancy, and her son, Torrance. But as the old saying goes, you can move, but, unfortunately, you must bring yourself with you.

Damon tries to start fresh as a co-founder of the Greenough Park Institute of Mathematical Physics, a burgeoning company he dreamed into existence with his best friend and colleague, physicist Dawson Kauffman. Having inherited money and successful in his career, he lives in a beautiful, luxurious townhouse with all the amenities. But deep under the surface, Damon’s past abuse and emotional neglect are building into a tempest that will demand recognition.

Despite possessing no fundamental skills other than his brilliant intellect, he uncharacteristically purchases a grand old turn-of-the-century farmhouse in the nearby countryside, slated to be torn down. He hires an unpopular outsider to live on the property and undertake the enormous task of restoring the house. Damon also adopts an unwanted mutt about to be euthanized, all to the puzzlement and chagrin of his friends and family.

To the surprise of everyone, the house slowly returns to life, and Damon along with it. However, the consequences to everyone involved are anything but satisfactory.

Phoenix Park is the man I dream about… hitting with my car, that is.
He’s rich. He’s attractive. He’s the absolute worst. But after I fall prey to an internet scam and lose every last penny in my account (please don’t ask), it’s Phoenix who swoops in with an offer I can’t refuse. I’ll marry him for the summer so he can inherit the family company from his dying grandmother, and in return, he’ll drop a hefty sum of money into my bank account.

Buy me a pair of sweatpants with GOLD DIGGER across the butt, because I’m just desperate enough to agree.

Our arrangement is only supposed to be for a few months, until Phoenix’s poor grandmother passes. I can pretend for that long. I can stop insulting him long enough to force a few smiles and some lovey-dovey glances. But with every touch we share, with every kiss we fake, I find the walls around my heart beginning to crack–letting in feelings I’m not prepared for.

And when Phoenix’s grandmother makes a miraculous recovery, leaving us stuck indefinitely in this charade of holy matrimony? That’s when I know I’m really in trouble… This book is part of the Falling for Summer series, seven interconnected standalones
