I woke up this morning and I felt okay. Naturally I was suspicious. I rolled out of bed and popped up to a standing position without grunting or moaning. What’s going on?? I was on my neighbor’s roof yesterday helping him remove shingles as well as loading them into a wheelbarrow and dumping them in a huge trash bin. I should be barely able to move. But I can move easily. Something is wrong. This seems very unnatural and I am very confused. What the heck did I do last night to wake up feeling okay? This is going to drive me nuts. Until I figure out why I am okay I am just going to take it easy and be careful.

Adding insult to injury, he’s saddled with an unwanted, dilapidated Opera House in Cape Unity, a once-glamorous seaside village now in decline. Hoping for a quick sale, Drayco’s plans are shattered when a potential new client is found murdered on the Opera House stage, a taunting “G” carved into his chest.

Teaming up with a wary Sheriff, Drayco navigates a treacherous maze of illicit affairs, immigration tensions, and coastal development disputes to clear his name and solve the murder. But his resolve is tested by the flirtatious wife of a Town Councilman, who had an affair with the victim and tries to seduce Drayco, further complicating the investigation.

As one mystery unfolds into another, Drayco discovers a link to a famous Polish pianist who was murdered after performing at the Opera House fifty years ago. Drawn into a web of jealousy and betrayal spanning across the Atlantic, Drayco must untangle dark secrets from deep in history’s shadows.

But when tensions in Cape Unity mount and violence looms, he has to act fast or risk becoming the next victim.

“Give me the incredibly short summary of what the hell is going on, please. The kind you could fit into a movie trailer.”
“You’re trapped in a video game world based on a hack dark fantasy author’s rip-off of better books.”
“Uh huh. Maybe you could be a bit more detailed.”

Aragorn “Aaron” Bartkowski was a programmer working at Epic DungeoneeringTM, the world’s largest fantasy video game company. Much to his surprise, he was selected to pick up the latest manuscript from reclusive author Larry C.C. Weis. Weis had been working on his newest book for over a decade and the good folk at Aaron’s company had dibs on adapting it. Unfortunately, Weis was also a wizard and sent Aaron to the world that inspired his books.

Aaron proceeded to find himself in a Slavic mythology themed world where he’s believed to be Weis’ main character, Garland of Nowhere. Equipped with the powers of a RPG protagonist, Aaron must accumulate experience and equipment while navigating a setting that seems worse off than Game of Thrones and Dark Souls put together.

I’m lost in the jungle, and something is stalking me.

Discovering a Mayan ruin in the Guatemalan jungle should have catapulted my archeology career, but I’m lost hours from camp. Worse, something is stalking me. It’s not a jaguar. It’s bigger than anything I’ve ever seen before and wicked fast. I can’t outrun it. I don’t have any weapons.

When it catches me…

I can’t help but think I’ve fallen back through time to the Jurassic Period, because the creature looks like a T-rex and raptor had a very vicious baby. It’s hungry, too. Very hungry. Though it doesn’t hurt me. Yet.

Then a naked man comes to my rescue. Not sus at all.

Kroktl says his squad is on a top-secret mission to Earth, and his outrageous physique certainly fits the part of a lab-created super-soldier alien. Who coincidentally smells exactly like the dino-predator that chased me.

He claims that I can help him through the heat. By the burning way he looks at me, he doesn’t mean air temperature. In fact, I suspect that I’m next on the menu. After he plays with his food. He’s even calling his squad to come see what he caught.

I don’t think I’m getting out of the jungle alive.

Comanche Captive is the engrossing story of Laura Little — rescued by the U.S. Cavalry, torn from her Comanche-born son, and forcibly resettled in Fort Worth. Not even the walls of a sanitarium can keep her there. Back on the high plains, she meets Scott Renald, an army “redeemer” on a mission to negotiate for Indian captives. Touched by her story, he leads her search for her son. But this is also an account of the 10th Cavalry of buffalo soldiers, an African-American troop led by white officers and tasked with Indian removal. As Laura’s urgent search and a rapid military campaign collide, loyalties are tested, a surprising family drama unfolds, and two civilizations absorb the impact.
