There is a wall switch in my kitchen that goes to nothing. Most of the time it is invisible to me and I can go years without even thinking about it. But once in a while I notice it and flip it a couple of times knowing it will do nothing. When I do, I often think about the person who will have this house after us. I think about how they will flip the switch multiple times, looking around to see if anything happens. They will wonder to themselves what the switch was for and most likely will make assumptions. They will never know the truth. I know the truth.
