Today is a bit bittersweet. 15 minutes ago I said goodbye to the wonderful chicken coop my hubby built for me years ago. We haven’t had chickens for about four or five years, because of the rats that took over the yard. GROSS!!! I loved that coop, but it was sad to see it just rotting away in the ground unappreciated by chickens. On a happy note, I have a blank canvass in which to fill with plants. Or a greenhouse? Oh the possibilities!!! They completely trampled my lavender getting the coop out of the yard. OH POOR ME. Now I have to go to the plant store!!! Tee Hee!!

When Aspen’s father finally hands her the keys to the family bakery, she knows it’s her time to shine. With her sisters at her side, she remodels and re-themes their little store on Main Street in order to keep the family legacy alive, all while keeping the public ignorant of her father’s illness.

Especially since the beautiful baker, Aspen, had caught his attention with more than just her skills with a piping bag.

Dead Before Dinner:
Green chile has never been more dangerous.
Psychologist Maddie Swallows’ decision to return to New Mexico seemed like a good idea at the time, considering the divorce and her two teenagers she’d dragged along for the ride.
But that was before the New Year’s Eve party she was guilt-tripped into attending. Before a member of the town council wound up dead and everyone at the party became a suspect. And before she was forced to unravel the secrets of her former hometown in order to clear her name.
Of course, with the help of two precocious teenagers and one meddling mother, the real murderer doesn’t stand a chance.
Dead Upon Arrival:
Flying high in the New Mexican sky has never been more lethal.
The biggest hot air balloon festival would have been a vacation if Maddie didn’t have to balance her apathetic teenagers, a meddling mother, and act as therapist for a desperate patient. Let alone solve a murder case!
When Maddie witnesses someone fall from a hot air balloon, it seems like a tragic accident. But as facts come to light, the police are convinced it’s foul play. And Maddie’s friend is to blame.
With the remainder of the festival canceled and all attendees required to stay for questioning, Maddie has two days to discover the truth behind the murder and free her friend from suspicion.

Chasing Zorba: A Journey of Self-Discovery in a VW Bus
by Jerry Steimel
(79 Reviews)
Genre: Travel

FINALIST – 2021 NATIONAL INDIE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
In 1972, after graduating from college, Jerry Steimel set out on a cross-country road trip in a 1966 VW Beetle he called Zorba — named after the literary figure, Zorba the Greek. In Zorba, the author Nikos Kazantzakis had created an image and a philosophy about life that inspired Steimel. Zorba’s commitment to grasping tightly to the present and living life without fear was something he strived to adopt.
On his road trip in 1972 Steimel aimed to explore America’s back roads — the country sharply divided over the war in Vietnam — and break away from his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Along the way, he sought to gain a deeper understanding of himself and the path his life would take. His goal: get to California and see what he could learn along the way.
However, the Beetle he chose for the journey suffered mechanical failure on the first day in a small town in Alabama, only 300 miles from the journey’s starting point. Resisting a return to his hometown, Steimel attempted to sustain himself in Pensacola, Florida. After a month, his resources were expended and he was forced to return to Louisville and put his dream of driving across America on the shelf.
