HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! YAY!!… ugh. I have so much work to do today to get ready for the party tonight. I already put in 100 hours of work yesterday, and feel like I have barely scratched the surface. I had a HUGE candle failure last night that nearly sent me over the edge. It ruined my entire presentation (throwing myself on the ground dramatically, but slowly because I am old and fragile). I made do with a few tea lights, but its just not the same. Will anyone notice? NOPE! The entire time I was setting up I was narrating in my head as if I was on a decorating or home show. I always go back and forth on whether or not I need a laugh track in my head. I usually pass because it sounds weird. Have you ever watched a show with the laugh track taken out? You can find them on YouTube by searching “tv shows with the laugh track removed” The ones from the show Friends makes everyone seem like awful people. So dark. Anywhoooo. I’m off to decorate more and maybe have a freak-out about paper plates.

It’s 1990, and New York soloist April Manning is trying to rebalance her world in the aftermath of her parents’ deaths. An offer to join the struggling West Coast Ballet Theatre as a principal dancer seems like the perfect opportunity for a fresh start — a new life in San Francisco, an exciting step up in her career, and the hope of a redefined sense of family. But the other dancers are wary, clannish and tight-lipped, particularly about an incident that hastened the departure of their beloved artistic director, leading to the arrival of his replacement, the young, inexperienced Anders Gunst. And no one wants to talk about Jana, a former company member who defiantly walked out rather than work under Anders. It is Jana herself who offers April hints, and even friendship, where she reveals a loneliness and hunger to belong that newly orphaned April well understands. But there is something troubling about Jana, and what April doesn’t know could prove deadly.
A prequel to the Ballet Theatre Chronicles, BALLET ORPHANS explores the work and sacrifices required to arrive at the highest tiers of the professional ballet world, coupled with the primal, universal desire to belong, to love and be loved, and the lengths we’ll go to protect those we call family.

It never occurred to him that ‘or die trying’ might be an option…
The trouble with volunteering in a South American animal refuge is that everything wants a piece of you. And the trouble with being Tony, is that most of them got one.
Just how do you ‘look after’ something that’s trying it’s damnedest to kill you and eat you?
And how do you find love when you a) don’t speak the language, and b) are constantly covered in excrement and entrails?
If only he’d had some relevant experience. Other than owning a pet rabbit when he was nine. And if only he’d bought some travel insurance…
That Bear Ate My Pants is the incredible TRUE story of one man’s struggle to survive in an Ecuadorian animal refuge. Whether losing a machete fight with a tree, picking dead tarantulas out of a tank of live ones or sewing the head back on to a partially decapitated crocodile, Tony’s misadventures are ridiculous, unbelievable and always entertaining.
If you love animals, you’ll adore this hilarious and heart-warming tale of big cats, monkeys, and the humans that try to rescue them.
