Hubby is worried about my mental state. I am on a mission to find the perfect way to store butter. Is this really important? No, but we use so much butter everyday, which means there is always a messy butter container on our counter. No biggie I know, but now I got it in my head to find out if we are butter dish, butter bell, butter boat or butter bucket people. I had no clue there were so many ways to store butter. It’s not an obsession, just a little mission. I have been finding all these different butter containers at the thrift store for only a few bucks, so all in all it has only cost me less than $10 to test them. A butter dish is way too messy, and I have only found one butter bell that didn’t have the butter in the lid. I hate the butter in the lid. Too topsy turvy. The butter boat is too heavy with three different pieces. I just got the butter bucket. I am just about to put the butter in it and test it out. Do I need to get a life? Yaaa… maybe.

The Thousand Dollar Man is a myth. An urban legend, his appearance prayed for by the poor and downtrodden of the United States. They say he goes from town to town, helping people who have problems. Any kind of problems.
They put adverts in their local paper, put notices up in the local stores, always hoping that one day he will walk through their town and see them, act upon them. And if he does – and as long as the client can gather together a thousand dollars to pay – their problems will disappear.
But it wasn’t always that way.
Colt Ryder was let down by everyone. A military veteran, scarred both mentally and physically by his experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan, after being medically discharged he tried for years to make an honest living. But after a series of menial jobs, he was eventually fired from a meat packing factory for protecting a fellow worker from a bullying boss. And when his home was then burglarized, his savings and possessions all taken, something in him snapped.
Homeless and unemployed, driven by anger and resentment against the system, he decided to change, to revert to his old skills and cross the Americas helping those who need him, those with nobody else to stand up for them.
All he asks for is one thousand dollars a job.
Whatever it is.
Whatever it takes.
The Thousand Dollar Man is the start of an exciting, high-octane action thriller series, perfect for fans of Jack Reacher!

The Legend Is Born: The Legends of Lainjin, Book Three
by Gerald R. Knight
(15 Reviews)
Genre: Mythology & Folk Tales | Fantasy | Historical Fiction
FREE for a limited time
This faraway, pre-contact story begins with Helkena, a young, still untattooed girl enduring a typhoon crashing over the only island she has ever known. Her home is Wotto, one of the dry, windswept atolls of the northern Marshall Islands. The newborn infant Lainjin has just been entrusted to her care by his mother, who has sailed her fleet of proas into the open ocean to save them from certain destruction.
Helkena, having barely survived the storm, must now travel to Namdik, a wet atoll in the southern rain belt of the Ralik Chain. As Lainjin’s surrogate mother, she will sail with the infant by outrigger canoe in the company of his maternal grandfathers. These kind men had recently helped the Wotto Islanders overcome the terrible drought that typically follows a typhoon. With the trade-wind season approaching, it’s soon time to complete their voyage. The grandfathers begin teaching Helkena the traditional navigational arts along the way.
Her goal is to get her tattoos on Namdik and, in time, to find a man there to take home to Wotto. She will need help to manage her matrilineally inherited lands, and she is related to most men in that small, dry world. But will she entice a man from the lush south to her barren desert island?
Far from being a simple story, this colorful, romantic tale presents a surprising background to the lovemaking culture of the Marshall Islands. It also reveals the early years of young Lainjin, the hero of the Legends of Lainjin historical literary fiction series.
