I woke up this morning is a really bad mood. Such a bad mood that I kicked the laundry basket. The basket is super soft. I’m in a bad mood, but not completely irrational. I love my cute little toes. Gotta take care of them. Back to my mood. I’m in a baaaad mood. Last night we traveled a good hour or so away for one of my oldest baby basset’s football games to a city I am completely unfamiliar with. The drive up was fine, stressful, but fine. It was the drive back that got me. It wasn’t the fact that I still had no idea where I was, the crazy drivers all around me zipping in and out of traffic like they didn’t have a care in the world, nor the fact that the lines on the road were worn out and hard to see. Nope, I could handle all of that. The part that got me was the giant mattress that was in the middle of the highway with me heading straight for it at 65 miles an hour. All of the sudden, BAM! There was a mattress flying all over the place in the middle of the highway, and I had barely enough time to check my side mirror to see if I could zip over. I was only 50% sure I was clear, so I veered over only half way into the other lane, and took half of the mattress on my passenger side. We came out of it fine. Thankfully. But I was shook. I also still had an hour of driving on frazzled nerves. We made it home and I went straight to bed. I didn’t even check the damage on my car. I don’t think there is much if any. This morning is a chocolate cake kind of morning. No guilt will be had.

Tears in Tripoli – A Jake Collins Novel
Jake Collins is an ex-military man who earns his wages by providing all manner of security services to international clients. Providing advice whilst accompanying headline-seeking media teams into war-torn regions is old-hat for Jake Collins. He’s been there, and he’s done that.
However, his latest little jaunt, one that sees him traveling right into the heart of Libya, soon turns out to be the trip of a lifetime.
The day after Jake arrives in Libya, the rebel assault upon the heart of Tripoli begins. The destruction of Colonel Gadaffi’s compound, a giant, walled village in the centre of the troubled city, is the Rebels’ only goal and they will not be stopped in their campaign to overthrow the compound and its leader.
Jake soon finds himself in the thick of the fighting, racing through the war-torn streets of Tripoli with a camera crew under the gaze of his watchful eye. It’s never easy trying to stay alive in a world ripped apart by revolution and mass gun-battles, especially when some of Jake’s crew seem absolutely determined to get themselves killed.
Finding himself surrounded by death and madness, it seems to JC that there are enough tears in Tripoli for a person to drown in. All he has to do is keep himself and the media crew in one-piece until their work is done, a task that seems to become more difficult by the hour.

I thought she was brave for going on her honeymoon alone. I just didn’t think I’d wind up joining her.
I’ve been known to jump headfirst into adventure without thinking about the consequences, but pretending to be married? That was never on my thrill-seeking to-do list.
It’s not Molly’s fault her ex left her high and dry, but his loss is my gain. If she needs a fake husband for the honeymoon of a lifetime, count me in.
Fancy dinners? Excursions? A romantic joy flight over the Hawaiian Islands? No complaints from me.
But the more time I spend with Molly, the more trouble I’m in. I’m not the knight in shining armor Molly needs for the long haul. But when I’m with her, I feel like I could be.
Pretending to be married to Molly might be the best bad decision I’ve ever made.
Treasured in Turtle Bay is book one in this sweet military romance series and is told in the first person from both points of view. Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are fun to read in order!
