I have pumpkin envy. A friend of mine sent me a picture of her youngest child hiding behind a huge pile of big beautiful pumpkins that she had grown this year. She hasn’t even harvested all of them yet. I bought two pumpkin starts last Spring and I ended up with one pumpkin the size of a large apple. Not the largest apple variety there is, just a regular large apple. Every Fall I say I wont grow pumpkins ever again, and every Spring I am once again out buying pumpkin starts. Each Spring I am hopeful that I can get it right. Pumpkins are not actually that hard to grow, you just need room, and I do not give them enough room at all. I have a new plan. I am not going to try and grow pumpkins in my yard. Maybe I should set a reminder on my calendar not to try pumpkins again. I will make a nice little sign, frame it, and hang it on the wall for me to see every day. DO NOT GROW PUMPKINS. I will add a little sad face emoji to it to really bring it home. I will not add a pumpkin emoji because that will just make me want to grow pumpkins. No… no pumpkin emoji.
