It might just be the end of an era. The city has decided to take care of chickens that have been roaming free in the Walgreens parking lot. They have been there for as long as I can remember and honestly I loved it. In the Spring it was always cute to see all the little chicks hanging out with mom at the gas station across the street. I also loved seeing all the fancy roosters crowing on the tables of the coffee shop that shared the Walgreens parking lot. The real fun was watching some of those same roosters chase people around the parking lot as they were trying to either go into the stores or come out. Sure, there was a minefield of poop, but you just had to pay attention, that’s all. Really, I don’t see why anyone would have an issue with such cute little chickens.
