For about two seconds there I thought my youngest baby basset was going to join me this afternoon at the downtown craft fair. I have never been to this one, and I am really excited about it. I used to love going to craft fairs with my mom when I was a kid, and it always put me in the holiday spirit. I remember a lot of macrame wall hangings. Sometimes the macrame Santa faces would freak me out a bit. You get that wrong, and you can scar a kid for life. I also remember the odd tasting hot chocolate in tiny Styrofoam cups that were so cozy to hold in my hands and walk around with. I loved the feel of ripping them to tiny pieces which drove my mom nuts. I would leave a trail of little white bits down every aisle until my mom caught me. I felt like I was in Hansel and Gretel. I wanted my baby bassets to experience that wonderful joy I had, so I asked them if they wanted to come with me. WHOA… I simple no would have sufficed. Yikes… who knew they could be so passionate about not doing something. I wonder if their dad has gotten to them first and told them how boring they are.
