I am feeling pretty proud of myself today. I returned yesterday, with my two baby bassets, from our first vacation without my hubby. He had to work, so if I wanted them to have one last little trip before school started I had to do it all on my own. I did, and everyone lived. No one was eaten by a bear, I did not drive my car off one of those horrible cliffs you have to drive to get to Tahoe, and everyone was fed. That last one gets a bit tricky for me. I have no imagination for meals, I only really think of cake. I have been told that you can’t feed your children cake for every meal (Thanks mom at park who couldn’t mind her own business, and all those parenting books, and that guy at the bar wearing the I Heart Sharks t-shirt, and pretty much everyone else). It makes them crazy. I don’t get crazy when I eat cake, but small humans get all wild and unruly and start running across ceilings or up trees. I did see a cake last night, and I fed it to my kids just to go against the guy with the I heart Sharks t-shirt and the lady at the park who couldn’t mind her own business. Sometimes I just need to be a rebel.
