I am currently running around the house trying to get my chores done so I can play with my new chocolate molds. When I was a kid I thought when I grew up I could play first and do my chores later, and no one could tell me no. WHAT THE HECK MAN?? I still have to get my chores done first. That voice in my head is kinda mean. I am also looking for the colored melting chocolates I hid from my hubby. I wanted to save those for the molds, but he kept eating them, so I hid them. Problem is I have no clue where they are. I found other items I had been missing like my spare set of keys, and a Fitbit, but no chocolates yet.

Tess O’Connor has never fought in a duel, ridden a Fae steed descended from a dragon, or touched taebramh, the magical substance that gives mortals dreams. She has never faced down a garrelnost or traveled the hidden mysterious pathways between the mortal world and the realm of the Fae. She has never felt a magnetic attraction to a perilously handsome Sidhe knight with eyes as deep and impenetrable as the ocean. Tess O’Connor stopped believing in fairy tales as a child when her father died… but all that changes when she discovers that her best friend Molly is half-Fae — and has been summoned to the Unseelie Court by Queen Mab herself. The Queen of Night and Winter sends Finnead, one of her trinity of Named Knights, to escort Molly to Court, willingly or unwillingly. Mab believes that Molly is the fulfillment of a prophesy, the half-Fae child foretold to become the bearer of the Iron Sword, a legendary weapon that could mean the difference between victory and defeat for the Fae in their struggle against an ancient evil. While Tess quickly learns she is no match for the shadow spreading through the Fae world, she refuses to let her best friend face it alone; and as the first mortal in Queen Mab’s court in over five hundred years, she must use all her quick wit and tenacity to keep herself and Molly alive in the beautiful, dangerous Fae world as they hurtle toward the war that could destroy it…

The Blizzard

Genre: Humor & Satire | Satire

The first major snow storm of the season is about to hit Burkaville, a provincial bedroom community founded on a strict moral code, vigilantly preserved and cultivated by the town’s women for four generations. But the residents now find themselves in a struggle to counter the growing threat of modern social mores. There’s not much to do in the insulated town where everyone knows everyone, and gossip reigns as the primary form of entertainment. Amid high anticipation, the town prepares for the looming storm even as they go about their daily routines. The Burkaville Book Nook, a small group of women who meet twice weekly to discuss the latest pot-boiler (and sometimes a book), is no exception. But as the storm approaches, an unlikely catalyst propels the circle of friends into a drama that unfolds over the following days. The chain of events represents for some a devastating slapstick tragedy, and for others, a journey of profound personal revelation. At once a comedy and a tragedy, it is the story of the unceasing advance of evolution and inevitable change in the continuity of time – the embodiment of each one of us, and the choices we make.

The Dalai Lama: A Life Inspired

Genre: Religion & Spirituality | Biographies & Memoirs

What does the Dalai Lama’s life teach us? Certainly, he is a sterling example of turning adversity into joyful service. But there is more to him than that. He is also a model of innovation and adaptation. He has taken the tenets of Buddhism and made them relevant to everyone. He has found commonalities in the teachings of Catholicism and Buddhism. His message is not just about personal happiness and good karma, it is also very much about respecting the earth’s resources, recognizing the equality of all people, and sharing with the less fortunate. He has said that, at ninety, he will decide whether his long series of lives as the Dalai Lama will end. As of this writing, he is nearly eighty. Will he live another ten years? We can only hope so.
