I am proud to say I am bilingual. I speak English as well as fluent in chicken. Yesterday hubby and I were working in the backyard and my sweet ladies were commenting on everything that was going on. My pup, Jethro, came out onto the deck and he was greeted with a few soft clucks as he passed by. I walked over to them and they all clucked excitedly asking for treats, which they got immediately because you just don’t keep your flock of ladies waiting. When my Hubby was working next to them and he was greeted with harsher clucks, and stares of judgement. Not sure why. They are just a little bit more cautious with him. I think it’s because every time I ask him to put the ladies in the coop, he chases them a bit and that annoys them. They tolerate him, but they wont be sending him any Christmas cards any time soon. Now if you want to hear angry clucks, let the neighbors dog in the yard. My sweet ladies go into high alert and get about a foot taller. Those clucks are certainly not a happy hello to you. I am sure they are cussing a bit. Seems a bit un-Christan like. I really can’t blame them. When you spend your whole life being delicious, you get a bit upset when critters with sharp teeth come around.
