To be completely honest with you, a few days ago I really didn’t think Iggy (that’s what we named the sick chickie) would make it through the night. She was wobbly and lethargic, and just so weak looking. I had spoon fed her water and broth made from the chick feed and I was surprised to see her still chirping away the next day. I spent the day yesterday spoon feeding her yogurt and water and she seemed to be perking up quite a bit. I told myself not to get attached, and I prepared my baby bassets for the worst. But it’s hard not to fall in love with a little chick who only wants to cuddle with you. This morning at 3:30 am, I peeked in on her again, and there she was chip chirping away.
