I have been feeling pretty sluggish and just down right awful for the past few weeks and I just don’t know what is going on. My partner in crime sent me an article yesterday that kale is the answer to all my problems. I hate kale. Kale is food from the evil one with horns. I blame kale poisoning for that time I tried a 3 day cleanse (I made it 7 hours) and fell deathly ill. It wasn’t the caffeine withdrawals…it was kale. Kale is is what you throw at your mortal enemy to bring them to their knees, crying and screaming in fear and pain. I am pretty sure kale is illegal in most states. Oh no…. I’m going to eat kale in the next few days aren’t I? It’s like getting a dooming prediction from a fortune cookie. Ugh… I hate kale.

In the background is Flora, an inspiring older woman of aristocratic allure, who has survived the horrors of the Nazis and life as refugee, to resume her rightful position in life. Together these women help each other cope with their fate, fight back, overcome, and establish their place in the world.
A dramatic encounter between four women set against the backdrop of 20th century history. Survive and Surpass is a story of endless greed and a never-satisfied hunger for power, But also of nobleness, decency and sisterhood. It is a seemingly light, witty and enjoyable novel, yet skillfully inlaid with subtle insinuations on human nature.

Faced with a major loss of services, daring seniors throw caution to the wind and embrace ganjapreneurship Einstein Meadows: The Unspoken Perils & Thrills of Living in a Retirement Community is a humorous novel about three retired professors who relocate campus culture by developing a neighborhood for their former colleagues. Upon starting their new journeys, the academics bring their old baggage full of intrigue, power grabs, endless backstabbing, insecurity and one-upmanship so prevalent in their prior work settings. Einstein Meadows teeters on the cliff of bankruptcy soon after Ned and Nancy arrive. Together they embark on a path to create systemic change to save their foolish investment. First, they encourage their neighbors to grow a vegetable garden, then herbs and ultimately to dispense medical marijuana. Eventually, the crop frees most of the seniors from financial and mental constraints and they enjoy life more. But not before the Elder Blasters shoot it out with bandits who try to steal their weed. The enlightened residents participate in Senior Olympics; create a circus troupe; ride around town in a Woodstock bus; host transgender, gay and lesbian weddings; shed their clothes and create the Einstein Meets Esalen Institute. Of course, every neighborhood has conflicts and Einstein Meadows has plenty. While pressing for progress, Ned and Nancy cross swords with officious board members Brunnhilde Meeskeit, Leopold Spieber, Filbert der Dorftrottel and Ima Khazzer, who rule over the convoluted committee system and spread quicksand and venom at every step. Dr. Freud whispers commentary about the residents in Ned’s ear, while Captain Anonymous places provocative letters in everyone’s mailboxes. Sister Pashkudnik and Brother Shaygetz exchange biblical barbs at raucous community meetings and Wild Cowboy Bill demands order by shooting his twin six guns in the air. Today, less than three years later, there is a waiting list of buyers and no homeowners association dues. How did it happen? Please join us on an amazing journey! If you’re contemplating moving into a retirement community, we suggest you read this book before you sign any contract. If you already live in a retirement community, you decide how closely our fictional story resembles real-life experience.

Tired of sleep issues destroying your life? Have you had enough? Do you ever spend hours in bed awake unable to fall asleep, or wake up in the middle of the night, or wake up in the morning just feeling awful? How would it feel like if you could put these issues in the past, get the rest you deserve, and stop sabotaging your life due to horrible sleep? If these issues sound familiar to you, then you need to read “Hack Sleep” as soon as possible. Over nine months of research on how to “hack sleep” and testing different tools and techniques on myself – from diet to hypnosis – I’m presenting everything I’ve discovered in this guide, for which I studied over 200 references. I wanted to create the guide that I myself would want: practical, actionable, but grounded in hard scientific evidence. Listen, if you’ve ever struggled with recurring sleep issues – I don’t need to explain to you what it feels like or drag you through that sort of agony. I know what that hell is like – having been a frequent insomniac for most of my adult life. In fact, it turns out I’m not alone – 66% of adult Americans report difficulty sleeping three or more nights a week. The pressures of modern life are taking their toll – and we are losing this battle. Sleep is such a complex process and a difficult thing to fix or figure out. Thankfully, that’s why I wrote this book. Among other things, you’ll learn: – How to naturally boost melatonin production by 266% – How to fall asleep faster – How to improve memory recall and early morning productivity – An exercise to improve focus and tame the “monkey mind” – How to optimize energy levels and always feel refreshed – Powerful self-hypnosis techniques to fall asleep created by reclusive Central American shamans – Self-massage techniques for relaxation and rest practiced by Indonesia’s balyan mapons.
