I planted the final seeds in the garden yesterday evening. I felt spoiled by the sunshine that was keeping me warm. It was pretty cold in the shade though. I figure with two new babies (chicks) coming today I would be too busy with them to tend to the garden for a while. Okay, I might be making a bigger deal out of this than I should, but I have every intention of spoiling those little cuties. I want to be sure to make them as tame and social as my sweet chickies are. I am still not going to go as far as knitting them sweaters, but I am not above singing then to sleep.

Can zombie books keep you alive? When the Zombie Apocalypse came to Liam’s neighborhood, it came with horsemen’s trumpets. Tornado sirens wailed for an hour, as if to ensure everyone knew there was no going back. Unfortunately, Liam was a fifteen-year-old boy condemned by bad decisions to spend the summer in the city with his 104-year-old religious great grandmother. When Grandma Marty tries to send him on his way to save himself, something deep inside awakens–he chafes at the thought of leaving her to die, and instead sees himself as a hero from one of his zombie books who can accomplish the impossible: rescue her. As they step out her front door together to face a city filled with scared refugees, desperate law enforcement, a zombie-hunting military, and opportunist criminals and looters, Liam realizes he tied his fate to a woman who can’t walk more than ten feet without his help. When the zombies begin to overshadow all their other problems, Liam comes to appreciate why there are no atheists in foxholes.

Genre: Action & Adventure | Romance

Linley Talbot-Martin is a girl who likes to get her hands dirty. As the daughter of a famous archaeologist, she’s been everywhere and seen everything — except London. But when the time comes to trade her jodhpurs and work boots for silk gowns and kid gloves, she may be in over her head. Even though she can out-ride, out-shoot, and outsmart any girl in London society, Linley is destined to be the failure of the season. No one she meets cares about ancient pottery or lost Buddhist texts, and fundraising efforts for future expeditions keep coming up short. If the Talbot-Martin team doesn’t find money soon, they will be out of a job, and Linley will lose everything she holds dear. Patrick Wolford, Marquess of Kyre (pronounced ‘Keer’), is a man who knows his place. Well-connected and respected, he is everything everyone expects him to be, but beneath his façade, he is as neglected and crumbling as the family estate. Now the strain of keeping up appearances is taking its toll. The smart thing would be to marry the heiress nipping at his heels and be done with it, but when he meets Linley Talbot-Martin, who dares to shake up his seemingly proper world, he must choose between the life he’s always known and one he never dared to dream of. The deserts of Morocco, ballrooms of Edwardian London, and jungles of India come to life in this story of difficult love and the lengths people will go in order to be with the person they were meant for.

You Gotta Go To Know
Chris DiCroce

“Every minute you spend wishing you did something is a minute you spend not doing it.” ~Chris DiCroce Tired of mortgage payments and unfulfilling jobs, Chris and Melody, along with their dog Jet, sold their house and almost everything they owned to move onto a 35 foot sailboat. This is the story of a leap of faith and their attempt to break away. From making the decision, to the emotions of finding the right boat, selling everything, and finally telling friends, family, and bosses. In the process, they soon discovered that their greatest triumphs often came from their greatest challenges. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams fell prey to their bologna sandwich and Miller High Life budget. Boat breakdowns, tropical storms and over-extended bank accounts brought them face to face with the reality that things don’t always go as planned, but sometimes… that’s the best plan. Light-hearted, humorous, and sometimes sad, this story will draw you in you with its unique look at life on a sailboat and the emotions that come with it. If you’ve ever wanted to quit your job and move onto a boat, or have dreams of location independence and travel, this is a book you should read.
