Oh Man. I was feeling so good (except for the cat poop thing). The Christmas cards were written and ready to be sent, the cookies baked and given to the hungry recipients, and I thought I was done with my Christmas shopping. It happens every year. As soon as I get that relaxed feeling, I get smacked upside the head with the realization that I forgot someone. The universe likes to mess with me that way. Like showing me a piece of chocolate cake and then telling me it’s plastic. Jerk.

Out Of Darkness
It has been sixty years since society as we know it was destroyed. People are forced to band together in isolated villages to hide from the predatory greyskins–the once humans that will eat anything that moves. But sometimes, hiding isn’t enough.
Nineteen-year-old Mora leaves her grandmother, little brother, and the rest of her village to seek out the man who can offer protection–Jeremiah. Along the way, she meets two brothers, Connor and Aaron who help her discover that she has a new ability within herself–the power of the Starborn. And there are others like her.
But these super-humans are on a mission: to kill Jeremiah. They claim that the man who offers protection for everyone is a murderer with dangerous secrets. Mora must now choose between the man who claims he can keep her village safe, and those who can show her who she really is.
If It Kills Me
Overconfidence has no place in a world where the dead rule. Nineteen-year-old Mora has learned this the hard way. After a conflict in the colony of Salem that left hundreds of people dead, Mora and her Starborn allies have been branded as fugitives by Jeremiah, the leader of Screven.
Now, Mora must prove to the world that she isn’t the enemy, and that hope for the future lies with the Starborns, not Jeremiah. To do that, she must find out the truth behind the origins of the dreaded greyskins that roam the Earth, attacking villages relentlessly.
But more than that, she must protect her family. The Starborns attempt to set up a base at her home, Springhill, but it only brings more turmoil. With a mentor channeling her dreams of the past, and two rival brothers fighting for her love, Mora learns of a new enemy that threatens to bring them down before the revolution can even begin.
Even In Death
Green, you’re clean. Red, you’re dead.
Nineteen-year-old Mora is haunted by the flashing red light that pronounces her doom. Now she knows she only has about twenty-four hours to defeat Jeremiah and finish the revolution she has started, before the greyskin virus claims her life.
To do this, she must lead the other Starborns through the war-torn streets of Screven. But Jeremiah has a secret power that will test Mora in ways she could have never imagined.

When an Angel Intervenes, is based on a true story. On Friday January 24th, 1986 at approximately 4:45 PM, within an hour of stepping off a school bus I was dying from a self-inflicted gun-shot wound in a lonely, secluded forest.I was 16 years old that night, and I had turned to suicide to escape a decade of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
Before pulling the trigger to rifle aimed at my heart I made a final prayer.I asked God, to send an Angel to save me. Unsure if God had heard me or not, I pulled the trigger.
When the rifle went off, I knew I had made a mistake and I wanted my life back.I learned life was a gift and I would take a thousand reasons why I had just pulled that trigger if I could have my life back. What would happen next, was a 2 hour long savage battle to survive suicide, and a miracle from heaven.
I attempted to convey lessons learned that night in this historical fiction.Inspired by the events of that night I sought to express, life is a gift, and it’s the little things, that make it so.

Follow the Yarn: The Knitting Wit & Wisdom of Ann Sokolowski

Sometimes you don’t know what your story is until you start to tell it. I was sitting in Ann Sokolowski’s beginner knitting class when a voice piped up within me saying: “I want to write about Ann!” I almost turned around in my chair to see who was speaking, so crystal clear was that voice!
Nothing could have surprised me more. At the time, I considered myself neither a knitter nor a writer – how could I write a book about knitting? Furthermore, I hardly knew Ann – how could I write about her? What was this all about? I resisted the idea with all my strength, but the voice would not be go away, and I began to write the notes that eventually turned into “Follow the Yarn.”
That inner voice certainly knew something I didn’t know when it prodded me to embark on this project that somehow led me on a journey from knitting to self-discovery. When my teacher, Ann, passed away suddenly nine months into my beginner knitting class, the book I was planning to write – a lighthearted collection of Ann’s knitting tips and techniques – turned into something much deeper. I surrendered to the project and I followed where it led me – and lead me it did, in a totally surprising direction.
Amazingly, the yarn led back to me. Amazing grace, through the act of sharing my truth through writing, I began to learn who I really am. As I followed the yarn, I discovered the ways in which my life was intertwined with Ann’s, and, in the process, I began to uncover my own true story.
