Unfortunately for my family I am feeling creative again. This means I am going to build something bug and I will obsess over it until it is done. Most likely it won’t be pretty, will take up too much space, and for certain it won’t be weatherproof no matter how many protective coats I put on it. I am trying to mix my two loves, Legos and my sweet chickies. If I mix in a bit of Star Wars there are no limits to what can happen.

We were reaching the Student Union when Dr. Rosenau broke the silence. “You know, I never eat young ladies on Fridays. Only on Tuesdays.”
I couldn’t help laughing. “Do I look that apprehensive?”
“Yes, rather.” He opened the door for me. “But I have just the cure for you. It’s David Rosenau’s patented shyness remedy, strawberry shortcake garnished with whipped cream, to be taken at least once weekly in charming company. Doctor’s orders.”
Kate is a college junior, a gifted student who skipped two grades in school, a naval officer’s daughter who’s lived in more places than she can remember. Shy and bookish, she’s never had a boyfriend, let alone been kissed or gone on a date. Kate thinks falling in love is something that only happens to other girls.
David is a college professor, a sailor, a brilliant scientist trapped in a failed marriage; aloof and reclusive, he buries himself in teaching and research. David’s convinced he’ll go through life with an empty heart.
When Kate gets a campus job as David’s typist, they discover they’re both mistaken.
Letters To My Mother is the story of a May-December romance set in 1950s Seattle.

Grant The Forgotten Hero
Charles Henry Vessey
(6 Reviews)
Genre: History | Biographies & Memoirs
FREE for a limited time
“Castigated by some, immortalized by few and forgotten by most.” Hardly a fitting tribute to one of America’s greatest heroes. Grant The Forgotten Hero chronicles the story of Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War. Ask an American what they remember about Ulysses S. Grant and they will recall that he was a heavy drinker, not that he was the President, nor one of the world’s greatest generals. An unusual legacy for the man most responsible for preserving this great nation. This book portrays Grant as an incredibly modest and humble man, perhaps the reason his true character failed to shine through. It tackles the old myths, head on, through logical analysis of the historical record and disproves most of the legend that has distorted his extraordinary military accomplishments. During the war, Grant captured three enemy armies intact and came within a whisker of capturing four, a feat unequalled in history and over so great a foe as Robert E. Lee. Ulysses S. Grant was one of America’s greatest heroes, who sadly most Americans have forgotten.
