I think it might be possible my chickens love me. I shouldn’t be surprised I guess, but the thought sounds a bit absurd. I have told you all before about the morning routine of opening the coop door and hugging each of them as they make their way out of the coop to eat bugs in the yard. The other day I didn’t hug them. I just opened the coop door and went about my business of adding fresh bedding to the nest box. They hovered around, clucking at me, and wouldn’t go out into the yard. So I picked each of them up, one by one, gave them a hug and set them down. Each waited their turn. After the last was hugged I set back to work on the bedding. They then went off to hunt bugs. Could it be they really wanted their hug?
