When my basset was a pup I taught her things, played with her, and pet her head. As she grew older we hung out in the yard, went camping, and we both kept a close eye on strangers walking past our house. Now I look at her and I see a being that is older and far wiser than me. At some point in our lives together she past me and learned the lessons in life that needed to be learned. While I feel as clueless as ever.
