Colt (A Nicholas Colt Prequel Book 1) (English Edition) Formato Kindle
October 21: just an ordinary day, unless you're a former rock star...
The sole survivor of a plane crash...

For Nicholas Colt, October 21 is an unlucky day. A day for nightmares. It always has been, and this year is no exception.
Someone is brutally murdering the offspring of an anonymous sperm donor, and Colt's missing client is next on the list. The story revolves around a danger to one of Colt's clients, which quickly proves dangerous to the PI too. It's a solid story that will keep you turning the pages, albeit nothing hugely innovative in what seems like a pretty crowded genre.
There's plenty of misdirection afoot, so it will keep you guessing, but that brings with it a great deal of info-dumping that serves to pad out the story to it's 194 page length. This is really a novella stretched to 'very short novel' length at best (despite the rather redundant inclusion of the words "A Novel" on the cover - I can only imagine this has been included for keyword reasons as it's pretty obvious to any reader that it is a work of fiction.
I'm giving this 4/5 as it's a solid, if unimaginative, hard-boiled PI story and I'll almost certainly move on to the rest of the series.

Intriguing storyline of young man searching for his biological father and family. Fast-paced with plenty of twists to keep the reader’s interest. Surprise ending. Flexible procedures, actions and reactions. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and memorable dialogue.
Rule #8 in Nicholas Colt’s Philosophy of Life: Worrying about how long you’re going to live will kill you faster than anything.
Half of them still lived with their parents, and the other half sponged off of women in stable professions like teaching and nursing, would-be rescuers lost in the shadows of the myth.
No desire to re-read this story. I am interested in other works by this author.
