This is, without a doubt, the most emotionally gripping book I have ever read. If I could give this 20 stars, it might still not be enough. I rarely buy the 2nd book in a series because I am on social security and just don't have much play money. I did by the next in this series though. I found this book to be that good.

This is the story of Katie. Katie was kidnapped at the age of 16, drugged and raped for 2 whole years. To make matters worse, the kidnapper is the son of her mothers boyfriend. Both these men were living in her own home. Katie was finally able to escape, but because her assailant lived in her own home, she felt she could not go home. At this point, she knew her mother would think she was dead, so she set out on her own.

Soon, she met Chris. Chris was to become her savior and eventual husband. With the help of Chris, and a therapist, Katie gets to a point where life is finally starting to look good. She is stronger and she is pregnant with Chris's child.
Then the unthinkable happens. Her assailant returns.

This story is well written. Is flows well and is easy to follow. The story is written so well you often will find yourself feeling like you are right there when things are happening. This is a story about two people madly in love with each other and the final straw that strains that love beyond belief. You see, Katie has become strong and Chris has been broken by the brutal return of Katie's assailant.

The characters in this story are amazing. You can feel what they feel. You can hate the bad guys and want to strengthen the good guys when they are down.

I recommend this book to ages 18 and up.

This is the authors first novel, and I thought it was brilliant. I read a few reviews on this book before I downloaded it and I have to say that whoever gave it 1&2 stars must have been reading a different book than me.
Katie seems to be happy nut maybe she isn't , she has been married to Chris for the last 6 years and he is a very good guy , he is a lawyer in New York City.
Chris wants nothing more than a normal family life, but Katie has some dark secrets from her past. She has been disconnected from her mother and her boyfriend Gerry for the last 8 years.
This story follows her time known as the missing years, it is at times a harrowing story but also a very loving story, I think like me you will enjoy this book and I know I can hardly wait for the next instalment . Well done to the author for a debut novel that you should be proud of .
