Another good solid well written who dunnit.

This one starts off with a woman running out of a house with a gun in hand. We also have a murdered man. He's in a chair, naked with a hell of a hard on and five bullets through his face. He's quite dead.

A security guard grabs the woman and calls the police.

The police figure out who the guy is. He's one well know banker.

Detective show up. They have a woman running out of the house with gun in hand. A dead body and a slam dunk of a case.

How wrong they were. The accused murderess swears she didn't do it. She shot the gun but at another party who was in the house. Of course she's the ex-girlfriend of the dead man so police aren't buying her story for minute one.

The murdered man is no alter boy and was into sex in a big way. He had loads of willing women for him and his chair.

Rhode is contacted by the girls Father. He swears his daughter is telling the truth. He hires alton to prove it.

So starts one hell of a who dunnit. Jeeze. This one takes Alton to Georgia for background and turns into one hell of a story that involves more than the accused lady.

This one has blackmail, murder and loads of folks who don't want the truth to come out.

Five stars and then some. Another good one by DeMaria.

TO LAY STILL NOW AND WILLINGLY USE MY LIMITED STRENGTH AND ENDURING PAIN TO READ THROUGH A BOOK, THE BOOK HAS TO BE AN AMAZING WORK OF ART! FOR ME, THIS BOOK MET EVERY CRITERIA, I HAVE IN DECIDING IF IT IS WORTH MY TIME AND EFFORT! laura lee...another great offering by lawrence de maria.It has a tautly drawn plot an excellent narrative and draws the reader on from one chapter to the next quite beautifully,unzipping the seamier side of staten island politics and policing.
New readers should start with de marias earlier books and get to know his 2 main characters Alton rhodes and jake scarne.Cant wait for the next book.
