I live in a place in the USA where every acre of land has ranches and fields with ponies and horses. So I was attracted by the cover and title of this book, plus the fact that the author had won an award through an Amazon writing contest. It made me feel that maybe it would be worth my financial and time investment to give this story a weekend read.

From the opening chapter and knowing that a parent was moving his son to a place against his will was only the beginning of me being drawn to the challenges that children and parents share as they begin a new adventure (and especially against their own will).

I'm not going to get all sappy on you, but I will warn you that you will laugh, you will cry and you will appreciate giving up your real-world dilemmas for a little slice of life that if you're old enough will remind you that hope and love are still options in this crazy world of ours.

To the author: Thank you for letting me into your world of believability. I wish there were more books like this one. You do truly write from your heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I didn't want to put it down.

It's about Andrian who lost his confidence in a nasty fall.

His dad Mark a former Olympian takes a job at a yard where Andrian starts to train the owners daughter, in the beginning the pair can't stand each other but then become friends.

Kori helps Andrian get back in the saddle and Andrian trains Kori.

Eventually the obvious happens and they fall in love.

While this book clearly addresses younger readers, it is still written in a nice style. The characters are interesting and the storyline is convincing. The author clearly knows horses and the love story is beautifully constructed. I thought it an entertaining read and hope to hear more from this promising author!!!

I didn't have very high expectations for this one, but it absolutely exceeded all expectations for me. The characters were likeable and the, somewhat predictable, plot chugged along nicely. I would certainly be interested in reading any follow ups, should they become available.
