I really enjoyed the many elements the author showcased within the pages of this book. There was a wonderful blend of murder, mystery, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and all those other good things that make up a great mystery thriller. The author stayed on track and never missed a beat keeping the pace of the book and the storyline moving smoothly from start to finish. Although there were times the story headed into areas that just seemed so incredibly unrealistic, the author was able to artfully pull the story and the reader back to a point where all of a sudden it would all seem completely believable!
As for other reviewers and their reviews focusing almost entirely on errors in typing, I’m really not going to do that. You can refer to the other reviews if that is a major concern for you, for me it was the story and the creativity of the writing that I’m doing the review on :) There are some errors in the book, but the story the author is telling makes it well worth reading. The errors didn’t distract me so much I couldn’t enjoy a good book. That said, I did get my copy for free during a free promotional day quite some time back.
This book is a good choice for those who like the sort of book that will leave you guessing the entire time trying to figure out who did what, why things were done, how things were done, and if things will be done in time (among so many other things).

This was a great book. So good, while reading it on transit going to work I missed my stop.

Tom Lowe's Sean O'Brien books however is one of those series.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all 4 and although I read them out of sequence (4,3,1,2) I don't really think this spoiled anything.
The central character is very well put together as are the reoccurring friends.
The story lines are tight and book 2 had me on the edge of my seat right until the end.
I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys the Jack Reacher series and maybe the Ben Hope series as well. You may also want to try the Matt Drake series by David Leadbeater but they MUST be read in order.
Unfortunately I have now read all of the available books in this series and would implore Mr Lowe to get writing number 5. Really can't wait. Entertaining and enjoyable fair. Many many more please.

Even though I sped read the parts in which they puzzled out the puzzle, there was enough action and interesting characters to enjoy the read. I like the hero a lot, although, to me, he seems a little too good at figuring out things; or maybe it's the other detectives seem a little too stupid to notice things anyone who watches crime dramas on tv would notice.
I know it sounds like I didn't enjoy the book, but I did. I think Mr. Lowe is a good writer. The main thing I love is his ability to take me to the St.John`s River, in Florida watch the storms, the wildlife and sit on his pitch for a sleepy afternoon in the shade
