I'm almost positive I read this before but perhaps under a different title? It's a seriously good story. It has so many great aspects to it and the mystery and then love interests are well done. I did not appreciate the "hang in there for the next book" ending. I can't always go right away and look for the next installment so I need to know well ahead of time if there is no specific ending. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes that tho' and intends to follow the next installment. Leaving a reader in the lurch, so to speak, while the proverbial gun is being reloaded is just bad!

While I appreciate getting the first in a series for free, I don't like the story not ending. I have purchased many series after reading the first one for free, but the first story ended in one book and I was interested enough to want to find out about other characters in the series. If the ending was carried over to a second or even third book I just didn't buy the series. So I am disappointed in this book. It may have had some interesting points of view and I think the author is really working to get her story read, but she should have a little faith in herself and finish a book and continue the series with another character or just start another book. Needless to say I will NOT be buying the next book in this series as I hope to stop this sort of cliffhanger craze by hitting it on the financial head.

This steamy story is full of surprises - good and bad - for the characters... great for us readers. The bad guys are developed enough that we really love to hate them. The good guys are flawed but we can love them anyway. It was a nice reminder of the fun and dangers of winter sports, the party life, and newfound love. I'm moving on to the next story in the series with eager anticipation...

AH has written a novel about a injured prime time skier and an ex seller of drugs. The combination is explosive. This novel is an excellent read. However, each novel in a series should stand on its on. This one does not. To Be Continued is a phrase I have decided is a lame excuse to draw interest into the next To Be Continued novel. The reason I say "so far" is because of the ridiculous cliff-hanger ending. This really felt like it was in the middle of the story rather than something extra added to the end to make you want the next book. I don't usually like when the point of view changes this much either but it seemed to work for this book. It's a great story, but be warned, you HAVE to buy the next one in order for anything to be resolved. This is the main reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Beware of this cliffhanger book

The immediate feeling of "desire" between the two irked me. Vocabulary repetitive. Every time I read the word "smirk" in any form, I wanted to stop reading. What really left me fuming at the end was the "cliffhanger". I could have wrung the authors neck for wasting my time. In the middle of a chase with guns no less-------- and full stop. It would have been a great story with a beginning, lots of chapters and an end. I will shun every book this author has planned and delete all the others I may have downloaded. By the way, what does a "filthy look" mean between two people who really care for one another? Extremely dirty and indecent - not exactly what one would think of using given the context.#SPOILER :The virgin is the one giving the filthy look.# I can't stop imagining a few of the well earned reviews this book might get if it was complete and edited - the story did have potential.

I mourn for what could have been a good romance.
There are a few spoilers in this review.

The plot held my interest. Too bad the book didn't finish the plot. I am not talking cliff hanger...noooo. The book stops dead in the middle of a chase scene...every single loose end is left hanging.

The dialogue was lacking. Using the f word as a noun, adjective, adverb and verb does not make a savvy, world wise heroine. It merely shows her ignorance and lack of vocabulary...and the author's as well.

Grammar and misspellings abound. I can handle mistakes in a book but some of them are blatant and cringe-worthy like using "feat" for "feet". Spell checkers are readily available...use them Ms. Huxley.

The story line is: Liz, has moved to a new town to turn over a new leaf. Yet, her best friend, Kayla, is a user of drugs and people...including Liz. What makes Liz stay friends with a person who has deserted and betrayed her in the past and continues to do so as the story evolves!

Bryan is a really good guy who is working through guilt and remorse resulting from a bad ski accident. He falls for Liz quickly and continues to rescue her.

The bad guys are just characteurs of women hating drug dealers.

What pains me about this story is it had some touching moments between Liz and Bryan. He makes mistakes but apologizes and makes reparations. She can be funny and sweet.

I hope the author can rework this book. It could be so much better.

I loved this book, it may have ended mid story, but who cares. I will by the next book.
If the story good, then why not.
If you feel that you should get a book for free, then write a book and see how you like to get nasty comments that ive seen for this book. Or even better work for a few weeks and not get paid for that work.
This book is great, personally love the story line. Liz and bryan have you caught up in the daily struggles.

Romance at Christmas in the snowy mountains at a fast pace sums it up. An intricate plot that comes to life in two life stories - Liz and Bryan - him a former Olympic Ski whizz the other a lost soul trying to recover her dignity and poise. They meet up in a misplaced rescue and things swing between good, bad and ugly. Hard drugs and selling your soul to the devil come to mind but the main characters have interesting facets and tales that are told from each side, overlapping too much for my liking, letting the story ramble on a bit before it gets to the next stage.

Having said that it's about kids partying and letting their hair down so inspite of some of the heavier overtones it's a good read especially as it's gratis. I think a good proof read and some serious editing would make this a solid start to an interesting series.

Thank you Ms Huxley for writing and offering this book foc - I probably wouldn't have picked it otherwise as I'm not a fan of outdoor activity in the snow - it's a good armchair read by the open fire which is exactly where I read it with an excellent Assam and I look forward to reading the denouement in Saved by the Blizzard: A romantic winter thriller
