This book was a brilliant, creepy collection of stories. Packed with ghosts, ghouls and sinister people who get their just desserts. It had me looking over my shoulder at times. I loved this book, I've been a horror fan since I was a kid. I missed out on a lot of creepy reads because I was raised Catholic and we told what we could not read. Don't worry Catholicism didn't take. Back to the book. I enjoy short stories because I can read if I have a little time waiting for whatever. I liked the stories, soma had kharmic justice, some were funny and only one was a retread of a story told before.Not scary but little scares me. I am ordering more of his collections. I have written 320 short stories so far in my quest to exceed Ray Bradbury's 400 short stories. It goes without saying it will be an uphill climb.

Stephen King is my favorite horror writer, and I admire what King has accomplished in the horror genre in terms of movies made from his considerable volume of work.

My channels on YouTube have amassed 20,000 subscribers and over 10,400,000 views, mostly from my "Dead Celebrities" videos.

I love movies and had seen over 1,500 by the age of 13 when there was snow on 13 channels after midnight.

My favorite horror movies are Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, and The Evil Dead. My favorite movie is Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life with James Stewart. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Lawrence Block, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker, Clive Cussler, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, James Lee Burke, Lee Child, & Jack Kilborn/Konrath.

And even though I was sure I knew how a story would end, I was wrong every time. Go ahead, give it a try. But, leave a light on tonight, and make darn sure you do look behind you.

This set of short stories certainly continues the unusual style that Billy has of changing the ending from what you might expect. Your anticipating with your own ending and then out of the blue its like "Oh man, I never expected that!" Just like in the story "Something in the House" when Gary is tumbling down through the air, your expecting that when he lands on the floor (maybe he survives and maybe he doesn't) the monsters will attack and eat him or something but you don't expect it to be his birthday party! Man, what a twist.

Another great set of stories from Billy Wells. He has that Stephen King style to his writing. So if you like SK, you'll like BW.

This book is a collection of horror stories and tales of vengeance.

Could a boy’s strange, new toy be coming to life, like Chuckie, in “Witch Albert”? Could a murderer on the run be suddenly conscientious over fire safety? Could an imaginary being help a young girl with her mother’s brutal beau in “Charlie”?
The details do not start to get gruesome until we reach the cannibal story in “Who’s your Daddy?” Most of the characters are sick, and there is a sense of mystery and fright in some tales, especially in “Caller from Hell”. One thing I noticed was that the stories all seemed to have the same MO—bloody explosion of human flesh and bone caused by the savage eating of the bodies. Yuck!
Overall, the writing style was nice, and I liked the sarcasm; however, there was some redundancy and repetition throughout. Also, the stories got kind of predictable about ¼ of the way in the book.

Intriguing, humorous, and full of irony. Stories are short and quick.

These are short stories, so prepare yourself for, well, short stories! However, they are interesting, some scary, some just creepy, but most of the book is pretty good. Not the best I've ever read, but far from the worse. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I especially like the fact that the stories, while supplying just the right amount of gore, didn't rely on it to make the story good. The first story will pull you in, and the rest will keep you reading, and maybe hearing strange noises behind you......

I regret paying actual money for this. Particularly after learning others got it for free. He has good ideas, but the stories feel unfinished, and the dialogue is stilted. I feel he'd benefit greatly from reading his own sentences aloud. People simply don't speak the way his characters do. Certainly not internally. The story about the anatomy teacher in particular. Almost painful. Finished the whole thing in a day, deleted it that night.

I enjoyed reading this and would have liked to give it 5 stars but I didn't find the stories particularly memorable or original(I had to check the index to remind myself of one or two titles)
Another author to watch out for in the future.
