I was so sad that my Kindle could not enjoy these pictures in full color. The detail is stellar.

The bedtime story is timeless. Most of us have our own story about an encounter where more light made us laugh over what we thought was horrifying. I was four and it was my favorite doll who became a tarantula on my bed, based upon the faint night light coming from the bathroom across the hall. I still don't like spiders.

The puzzles in the back will remain popular long after your children are reading this book to you. My kids made up all kinds of counting and 'I Spy' and drawing games/matching games with these types of puzzles that these books lives in the family vehicle until both girls could drive.

One other suggestion for monsters...a nice fruity or floral anti-monster-air-spray (Glade, Lysol...lots of brands to picks from). I covered the cans with contact paper and made specific marks on which way to point. Glow in the dark pens from the craft store are great for this. If child could smell fragrance the monster could not come near because monsters HATED that smell. This remedy gave me fewer freaked out kids and rooms that did not smell of sweaty leotards, athletic shoes, and farts.

I Am Not Afraid of Monsters is a quick read and perfect for a bedtime story. A little boy tells us that he is not afraid of a whole litany of different kinds of monsters. The pictures are well drawn, brightly colored, and not very scary. He informs us that he is fearless and brave. At the end of the story there is a twist with a surprise ending. For children who are fearful of things that go bump in the night, this book will provide reassurance. My only complaint is that the pictures in the Kindle edition are rather small.

The words itself were cute-ish. But the pictures that were used in the book were really all over the place. I expected cuteness from the cover, but they have nothing to do with each other, don't even look like they belong in the same book. I felt as if the author picked a bunch of random pictures and then wrote a story around them. To me, it was just eh and was sort of disappointing, which made me glad that I didn't spend any money on it.

The kids didn't seem to enjoy it either. This was one of the rare occasions that no one asked me to read it a second time. I do have a little boy that I read to who loves monsters and asked if he could sit down with my Kindle and look at the pictures. When we talked about them, he said that some were silly, but others he really liked.

Perfect for toddlers!

All kids are scared of monsters. The story is well written and shows how the fear is in the child's mind and what it really could be. The pictures are very appropriate for the story and age group. A very nice bonus is at the end there are also some games. These games are excellent learning experience for your child but also fun. They won't realize that they are learning. I recommend this book to anyone with young children.

I have found that some of the books that you can get for your Kindle are not exactly the greatest. The images in this book are all clipart none of them match and none of them really flow or go together. Has a designer myself I find this very sad. The book doesn't even really have a storyline.

This is such a cute book. On the surface is might seem like an easily put together book, but the creativity and deeper lesson is there for kids. Our deepest fears are not as they seem. We tend to make more of them than what is really there. The book has weird monster photos that reminded me of Monsters Inc and is great for a read to the little ones as they are going to bed.

Very Cute Story BUT not "Interactive"

The author did her part in writing a pre-school or primary grade story using colorful language with rhythm and rhyme and a cute story line. However, when viewed on the Ipad or Kindle it is reduced to electric page turning. The quality of graphics is good but their presentation on the screen is disappointing. To view the illustration at an acceptable size, you will have to zoom each illustration causing the text to disappear from the screen. This destroys the reading experience with your child. As to "interactive" as used in the book's promotion, there are some games at the book's end which could be exaggerated as being interactive in the same way that a person interacts with an article while reading a newspaper.

I would have sent it back but the author did write a cute story that would better be enjoyed in a book format. To read a truly interactive book see Even Monsters Get Sick.

This is a wonderfully charming book that features a wide range of not-too-scary monsters that will have you smiling more than it will send you running to hide.

The illustrations are very cute, and I suspect that you will have a very good time (I know we did) pointing at the different monsters and discussing how Sam isn't afraid of the Monsters.

This book would be appropriate for even the youngest of ages - definitely pick this one up to have something new to read at bedtime.
