One thing you can be absolutely certain of is that none of Santa’s elves are on vacation right now. Any elves that you see around town or in the city are working and they are not to be disturbed. I guess if a kid has any questions or concerns it’s okay for them to approach an elf. The rest of us are best to just leave them alone to work. I saw one yesterday at Costco, and I was having a really hard time not spying on his cart. I was curious if there were any toys. Nope. Just toilet paper, a few cases of whiskey, and ibuprofen.

The Heart Sense Journey: Your Heart’s Invitation to Deeper Living
by Louise Livingstone PhD, Jay Livingstone
(9 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
How can we move beyond ways of knowing and being that are creating of a world of increasing separation, division and conflict, and learn to live into the possibility of a radically interconnected world that flourishes for all Beings?
Our genuine engagement with this question, and movement towards this reimagined world, resides in an ancient way of knowing that we each have within us – the heart. While the contemporary mind favours separation consciousness, the heart honours a way of knowing and being that creates the conditions for authentic relationships and deep connection.
In this book, Louise Livingstone PhD, puts forward a living idea; specifically, that knowing through the heart (Heart Sense) is a vitally important human capability which has, over the course of many hundreds of years, been divorced from, and rendered subservient to, knowledge about the world as generated through the brain (understood in modern times as the seat of knowledge and rational thinking).
This move has been utterly catastrophic on numerous fronts, as this book makes clear. Specifically, not only does our modern way of engaging with the heart distance us from its wisdom, guidance and innate ability to support us to deeply relate with one an-other, it also cuts us off from knowing just how valuable the heart is in our lives for creating conditions for peace, harmony, flourishing and thriving – for all. When we no longer can hear our heart, we are cut off from an ancient source of wisdom and guidance, inhibiting us from creating mutually nourishing relationships within the world in its entirety.

Ghosts can’t catch a killer, but they can help two city detectives hunt for one.
Eager for a week off from their high-pressure jobs, Detectives Daniels and Remalla arrive in the small town of Dumont to clean out the cabin of Daniels’ deceased grandfather. Their vacation is only slightly upended when they learn the area is haunted by the ghost of a woman whose body was found on the banks of the Black River near the cabin. Her unsolved murder still haunts the town where she lived and died.
Despite Remalla’s apprehension and Daniels’ indifference about the ghostly sightings, their troubles multiply when they discover a second woman’s body on the banks of the river. And when they learn the small-town sheriff and suspicious townspeople suspect them of the crime, their peaceful getaway becomes an investigation.
Thrown into a case they didn’t ask for, Daniels and Remalla must navigate a town steeped in secrets and haunted by its past. From an eccentric fortune-telling duo to a surly elderly woman with a dangerous grandson, from a suspicious drifter to a sheriff obsessed with the paranormal, everyone seems to hide something. Even Daniels’ late grandfather may have known more than he let on. The partners’ questioning leads them to believe that Dumont is hiding a dark secret that someone has killed to keep hidden, and if they stick around, they could be next.
But they’re not the only ones on the hunt for justice. And when a killer comes calling, their survival will depend not only on each other, but on the dead who haunt Dumont.
