I like November. It’s all about the menu. What are we having for Thanksgiving dinner? Hmm… now a days it can be anything that you like. Gone are the days of having to have Turkey. Turkey is great and all, but when you have a brother in law that is amazing with the BBQ, grill, smoker, or any of those outdoor cooking thingies, you will jump at any chance to see what magic he will create. The sides are still the same with broccoli casserole, sweet potato and apples baked in brown sugar, and fresh rolls. Plus other goodies of course, including pumpkin pie. Yup… Thanksgiving is the best.
The Bethany Tales: Four Intertwined Stories of Restoration and Hope
by Bryan Canter
(408 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
A young woman, cast out by her father and shunned by her family, wanders the streets of Jerusalem… … selling her body to survive in a cutthroat city that has no mercy for the downtrodden.
When one man promises her a different way of life, she overcomes her doubts and opens her heart to him.
A stranger named Jesus saves Mary from death, and she becomes a devoted follower. He helps her to break free from a life of prostitution, and they travel to her home village of Bethany to seek reconciliation with her family. Her brother Lazarus gladly accepts her back, but her sister and uncle make it abundantly clear that she is not welcome there.
In the face of her sister’s rejection and her uncle’s judgmental pride, Mary questions God’s forgiveness and struggles to forgive herself. Yet even as their lives interweave and collide, the very ones who are so quick to condemn her, wrestle with their own internal demons — inadequacy, self-righteousness, and the need to earn God’s favor. Will these attitudes tear their family apart forever, or can a carpenter from Nazareth open their unbelieving eyes and show them the wonder of true faith.
Canter tells the personal histories of these four New Testament characters in a uniquely memorable way. Fans of Francine Rivers, Brian Godawa, and Kenneth Winter will love this compelling tale. See why delighted readers say “Bryan expertly intertwines each person’s individual story, including their past life and their new relationship with Jesus.”
Immerse yourself in this compelling tale and begin your own faith journey — one that will challenge you, inspire you, and leave you forever changed!

Sunset: Book One of the Nightlord Series
by Garon Whited
(1,814 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
Sunset brought a hangover, a beautiful woman, and the thirst for… blood?
Eric didn’t ask to be a vampire.
To be fair, there are lots of types of vampires–different species, if you like–and his particular type is called a “Nightlord.” But so what? Eric read all about various monsters, but he didn’t believe in any of them.
Then he meets a beautiful woman, wakes up with a hangover, and bites his tongue with his own fangs. That was pretty convincing. The bite, that is. She was more convincing, but until he bit his tongue, he wasn’t listening.
Eric clearly isn’t a typical vampire. He didn’t want to be one, and certainly not without reading the terms and conditions! At least his sense of humor seems up to the task of coping with his new circumstances–or he’s using it as a coping mechanism. Nobody’s sure just how sane an involuntary vampire can be.
So what does one do when shanghaied into being an undead? Is it better to laugh about it and get on with… uh… life? There’s a lot to learn, not the least of which is that these brand-new bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts can be difficult.
Upside: Eric has the beautiful Sasha to teach him the ropes, including the magic he’ll need to survive.
Downside: it turns out being a vampire is the least of his problems.
Not only are people trying to kill him, but he’s got a whole world of magic and monsters who either want something from him–immortality, power, a little of his blood, his entire head, or maybe some small piece of his heart.
Eric will find himself dragged into an epic battle at the literal edge of the world, as one dark power set against both Darkness and Light to keep a precarious world in balance.

A cracking yarn of long gone colonial days
Very evocative of the RHKP in 1990’s Hong Kong
