I need to submit a complaint with the manager. I saw an item advertised on Facebook Marketplace as a Vintage 1990’s style toy. FIRST OF ALL.. 1990 was only five years ago. Don’t go telling lies about things from 1990 being vintage. That kind of miss information is dangerous. Please kindly stop. Now if you don’t mind, I am going to go figure out what this new Instagram thing is all about.

The Burden of Sweetberry: (African American Christian Fiction) (Chronicles of the Hamlet of Sipsey Book 1)
by Carol Gosa-Summerville
4.6 Stars (35 Reviews)
Genre: History | Black & African American

Set in Sipsey, Alabama in the early 1960s…

Sweetberry has lived her life depending on men. She left home as a teenager with soul singer, Eddie Simpson, hoping to live the high life in New York City. When that life ends in a tragedy, she returns home sick and penniless. With no skills and a child to take care of, all she has is her beauty and sensuality, and they become her bargaining chips with men.

A Powerful Story of Sin and Redemption

Josiah Hess, a respectable married man and deacon of the church, falls in love with Sweetberry. His compassion for her situation compels him to offer that if she’ll stop bedding down with other men, he’ll take care of her. Sweetberry agrees to this arrangement, and they begin a long term affair in the presence of the community, the church, and even his wife. A child is born to Sweetberry during this affair. Then Luther McGill comes to town. A big shot and a braggart, Luther McGill is immediately attracted to Sweetberry. His wooing of her over the other women in town emboldens her and she begins a relationship with him. Believing Sweetberry’s interest in him is a passing fancy, Josiah Hess doesn’t challenge it. But Luther’s control of Sweetberry and his disdain for the deacon set off a series of events that end with Josiah Hess killing him on the church ground. Living with the aftermath of this tragedy sends Sweetberry into an abyss of demons and darkness and a fierce struggle for a life of redemption

Ecstasy is the only thing on Clio’s mind.

Specifically, ecstasy as portrayed in the Renaissance art of Italy. Clio is a shy art history doctoral student, clinging to her last chance at achieving the college degree of her father’s dreams, when she meets fast-living, sexy Italian architect Guillermo.

They come from two different worlds, but share a deep passion for history and beauty.

Clio can’t resist being drawn into Guillermo’s problems when his family’s beautiful ancestral villa is at risk of being sold to an American rap star who will carelessly destroy its rich culture, history and artistry.

She tries to keep it professional and fights the urge to surrender to his smouldering seduction. Guillermo is exactly the type of man Clio’s experience has taught her to avoid, and by getting involved with him and his villa, she stands to lose much more than her precious Ph.D.

Can Clio juggle her PhD thesis, a too-hot-to-handle romance, and rescue a priceless piece of history or will everything end in disaster?

Chatelaine Grand Prize winning The Art of Enchantment is a beautifully written, evocative love story of art, history and passion set in Romantic Tuscany, about having the courage to answer the call of your true nature and finding family and home where you truly belong.
