I can tell you right now that it is not a good idea to start your morning by watching a video compilation of people having close calls. I am a nervous wreck! The compilation included tigers and a guy on a motorcycle, fireworks, SHARKS (you know that will send me into a tissy) and teens doing stupid things. Great… now I have a list of about 20 more reasons not to let my sweet baby bassets out into the world. Sorry boys, as teens you are prone to doing stupid things. You will not leave the house again until you are 30. I have spoken.

A vampire slayer by necessity.

Anissa Garnet is a vampire. She’s also a slayer. Anissa is no stranger to taking out the enemies of her clan leader. Her assignment is simple. Jonah Bourke is not to attend the League of Vampires. An assignment like no other.

Vampire clan leader Jonah Bourke is that one. He didn’t plan to be a hero. He didn’t want to save the life of the slayer that was sent to kill him. Maybe he wouldn’t have, if he’d known.

Too late now.

Anissa just compounded his problems. Not that he didn’t have plenty: A rebellious twin who wants to claim leadership of their clan and a litany of supernaturals that want him dead.
So what’s a vampire to do when he saves the life of the vampire girl sent to kill him?

But what action? She’s tried every diet under the sun.
This series is the hysterical story of what happens when Mary joins ‘Fat Club’ where she meets a cast of funny characters and one particular man who catches her eye. As the series develops, Mary goes off on a whole load of adventures. Join her for all of them. See: www.bernicebloom.com for more details.
The stories are laugh-out-loud funny and will resonate with anyone who has dieted, tried to keep up with any sort of exercise programme or spent 10 minutes in a changing room trying to extricate herself from a way too-small garment that she ambitiously tried on and is now completely stuck in.

Women Friendships – Humorous Fiction

“A bowl of my Mama’s gumbo and a little wine will solve any problem you’ve got,” said every single Gumbeaux Sistah ever.

Five, fiery, Southern women wage a hilarious war against the problems of one of their deep-in-trouble sisters using their improbable friendships, evil-genius schemes, oh-so-numerous cocktails, and a shared passion for good gumbo.

When southern artist, Judith Lafferty, loses her long-time, prestigious museum job to a smarmy, do-nothing younger man, she finds herself devastated, alone in her middle age, and on the brink of financial disaster. Enter the incomparable Gumbeaux Sistahs, who deliver day-old coffee to her front door as a ploy, then go on to kidnap her, feed her excellent gumbo, and come up with outrageous solutions to her problems. Their motives are just good excuses to drink wine, have a great time, argue over whose mother makes the best gumbo, and, most of all, help a sister out. Any challenges that face the over fifty crowd don’t stand a chance against these five resourceful ladies. The Gumbeaux Sistahs has many twists and laugh-out-loud moments as well as some truly heart-wrenching ones too. It’s a heart-warming, smart story of friendship and unexpected shenanigans that you do not want to miss.
