Today is day three of moving well established and happy plants around in my garden. For some reason what I had done a few months ago, all of the sudden didn’t appeal to me any more. So I dug up a bunch of plants and moved them around to other parts of the backyard. I hate to admit, I wasn’t always all that gentle with them. I start out nice, “Don’t worry little fern. I will be nice. I’m just going to gently dig around your roots and sweetly pull you up out of the dirt. (1 min later) WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING ME!??? GET OUT OF THE DIRT!!! (YANK).” The last three mornings I have woken up feeling a bit guilty and checked on the plants to see if any have died. So far so good, which is surprising. These guys are a lot more resilient than I thought. Today I won’t have time to work in the garden, so my little green friends get a break. But don’t get too relaxed my leafy buddies. I have all day Saturday to hang out with you.
