I am getting ready to be jealous of all the other beekeepers. Soon my partner in crime and I will go out to our hives and harvest the honey from our bees. We have never gotten more than a few frames of honey in the past, so I am feeling pretty pessimistic. Currently we have ten colonies in the back yard, but only one of them is over one year old. The rest were swarms I caught this past Spring, so they are all pretty new. Next year will be our year though! As long as we can have at least 50% of our colonies make it through Winter I will be very happy. Some of the swarms I caught were a healthy size, others a bit small. We do everything we can to help them, but ultimately it is on them whether they survive or not.

WHEN ALIENS INVADE, ONLY A CON MAN CAN SAVE THE DAY…

Hollis Palmer is not a good man. An unapologetic thief and womanizer, Hollis has no time for anything that won’t profit him directly. So while the rest of the world is staring up in shock as aliens race toward Earth, he’s busy stealing a case valuable enough that he’ll be able to ride out any invasion in style.

But ET’s arrival proves to be a bigger catastrophe than Hollis – or humanity – expected. Meanwhile, his would-be hostage, Mia Davies, the trophy wife of his criminal boss, is making the aliens look like a walk in the park.

As their plans crumble along with the rest of the world, Hollis and Mia find themselves on the run from a motley crew of aliens, criminals, and crackpots. The two of them must figure out a way to work together without killing each other before something really bad happens-like the city gets blown up, for example.

What can children do when their mother asks them to help her die?
Ruth, an extraordinary eighty-year-old with a PhD in the Arts, who has suffered a stroke that left her without the capacity to speak, read, or write, tries in vain to commit suicide.

Dumbstruck, her children realize that their mother’s situation requires 24/7 supervision and they jointly decide to move her into the bosom of the family.

Each one of the children, however, has their own personal problems, and Ruth’s mental and physical deterioration make the whole situation unbearable and explosive.

Bitter, and no longer wishing to endure her incapacitation, Ruth decides she wishes to die, and without words, asks her children for assistance, as her last wish.

When the request becomes a reality, her children face an enormous dilemma — to comply with her last wish or to fight for their beloved mother’s life to the end.
