Tough Mudder: Mile 4. By far one of my most favorite obstacles is Blockness Monster. You have to push, pull, and roll your way through 60ft of slick, rotating barriers in chest deep water. It can only be done with people cooperating, and when you get a good group it is delightful! When I win the lottery I will put one of these in my huge pool. This obstacle is a great chance to clean yourself off a bit as well. After trudging through Mud Mile you want to get some of the extra mud and rocks off your clothes. It is usually right about now that you discover the multitude of scratches that you have acquired. Rachael and I get out of the water and look down at our legs. Blood is pouring out of dozens of deep cuts and we are growing weaker by the second. I am seeing my life flash before my eyes and I realize too late that I didn’t eat enough cake in my life. If I had to do it over again I would eat cake every day. Okay… nothing like that happened, but I will still eat the cake. Our legs are pretty scratched up though, so pretty little skirts are out of the question for the next week or so. I’m not sure I even own a pretty little skirt. I’m not all that concerned. Almost halfway done with the course and I am feeling heavy, not tired, but heavy. No sign of our Mud Mile friend. I didn’t want to loose him since we still had an obstacle ahead of us that required a team of five and our team of two wasn’t going to cut it. Considered jogging… Rachael said no this time. HA! She is coming to the dark side.
