My poor baby bassets must hate the crazy I put on them sometimes. With hubby not at home, and my impatience more than I can bare, I decided I was going to put the big heavy totes of who knows what up in the attic. This of course involves a shaky ladder and totes that love to pop open, without warning (because whats the fun in giving warnings) and spit fragile items out. Now, none of this ever happens when my hubby puts the totes up in the attic, just me. How special I feel. So I yelled for my baby bassets to please stand off to the side and watch me as I do the climb of death up into the attic with the Jack in the Box of totes. My instructions are always the same. If I fall and I’m unresponsive, please call 911. Also… and this is the most important part… do not repeat the mommy words that inevitably come pouring out of my mouth every time I have to drag these awful totes up the shaky death ladder into the attic that surely has a few monsters if not a whole family of raccoons. So there they stand, in the corner of the garage, phone at the ready, watching their mother, wearing a robe, halling totes in the attic, thinking to themselves…. why us.
