When I went to pick up my sweet ladies yesterday from my baby basset’s school, I saw four little chickies that were so done. I had set up a nice little covered pen for them to retreat to if they got tired or just needed personal time for themselves away from the children, and they took full advantage of it. The kids were running around the garden, planting, playing and of course being quite loud, but my sweet ladies didn’t even notice. Thankfully they have been around screaming kids all their lives, so it might have been a very homey noise for them. I am worried though that they are not able to lay their eggs when they need to. When I brought them home they all ran to the nest box. I guess as long as I keep seeing happy fat chickens and eggs from each of them I won’t worry too much about it.
